"Come on, just come with us" Mitra was urging, pulling at Rafe's shirt.

She was trying to convince him to come with her to the mainland in search of a dress for midsummers and something for Mak to wear, she was thinking a cute little tux with dress shorts and a bowtie.

Rafe caved as she gave him her puppy eyes, rolling his own as he turned to grab the car keys, "fine, but I need to find something to wear too".

Mitra smiled and did a happy dance, "that's all I've ever wanted, Rafe" she joked.

She made her way over to Mak, who was playing with a toy on the floor, "c'mon bub, we're going to the mainland today" she told him, wiggling her eyebrows at Rafe as she said 'mainland'.

The baby was wearing a white Burberry t-shirt that had a strip of the signature Burberry pattern on, with some matching Burberry shorts and Gucci sneakers, small white socks finished just below his knees and a delicate gold bracelet on his baby wrist.

Mitra smiled and picked him up on her left hip whilst Rafe attached Bernard's collar and leash.

The five made their way to the Tesla, Mitra strapping Mak in whilst Rafe opened the door for Bernard before the two got in themselves.

Rafe was driving, he liked driving because he got to put his hand on Mitra's thigh whilst he did.

The car pulled up to the docks, a ticket box was nearby, selling passes to the ferry that was departing soon.

They got out of the car again, Rafe refusing to let Mitra pay for the tickets as he pulled out his wallet.

"Please Rafe, can I pay?" she asked, bouncing the baby on her hip.

Rafe shook his head and kissed her cheek, "sorry baby, but my lady never pays" he joked, turning back and paying the man before getting onto the boat.

The ferry ride was calming, the wind whipping through Mitra's hair as she watched Rafe with Mak on his shoulders. They were both pointing to the water, where small fish were lurking near the surface.

Rafe waved Mitra and Bernard, who was chewing on a bone, over with a bright smile. Once next to him, Rafe began pointing out the fish they were watching with a smirk on his lips.

Mak smacked his hands on Rafe's hair repeatedly, which resulted in Rafe pulling him off his shoulders and tickling him.

The baby laughed as the only man in his life shoved his face into his belly, blowing raspberries on it.

A small family came over, with a boy around 5-6 and a slightly older son, Mitra guessed he was 9-10, and parents that looked around 35.

"Hi! I just wanted to say, gosh, you look like the perfect family" the mom complemented, a sweet smile of her lips.

She had a slightly olive skin tone, and dark brown freckles covered her nose and forehead. She had coppery hair, tied in a loose bun at the back of her neck, a large hat covering her head.

Her husband was burly and gruff looking, his chin was covered in salt and pepper stubble, his jaw sharp and defined. He had jet black hair swept back into a tall quiff and he ran his hand through it every few seconds.

The eldest son was flicking the other son's arm, teasing him and sticking his tongue out.

Mitra smiled and ignored the bickering as she shook the mom's hand, "oh, we aren-"

Rafe cut her off with a clearing of his throat and a hand placed directly over her ass, "thank you, ma'am" he voiced deeply, his grip on Mitra's behind tightening, which made her breath hitch slightly as she leaned into him.

The woman smiled and shooed her kids in front of her as she left, her husband trailing behind with his head in his Galaxy phone.

Mitra turned to Rafe with a half-pissed off, half-entertained grin. She smacked his chest lightly and took Mak, "what was that for?!" she whisper yelled.

Rafe laughed as he bent down to kiss her cheek, "well, I had to teach you some manners, didn't I?" he whispered, mouth dangerously close to her ear.

Mitra laughed and kissed his cheek before turning her attention to the leaving passengers.

"Well Lover Boy, we have arrived" she told him, a smirk on her lips as she handed him Bernard's lead and got off the ferry.

It wasn't long before they were in a boutique full of baby clothes, letting Mak run wild because they were the only ones in there and sifting through racks of tuxedos until Rafe held up a baby blue one, with a cute bowtie around the collar.

Mitra smiled and nodded, kissing Rafe excitedly before taking it from him and making Makari try it on.

"He looks perfect," Mitra gushed, "I just wish Mozzie could see him," she mumbled, saddened by the knowledge that her sister isn't going to wake up.

Rafe kissed her cheek and wrapped an arm around her waist, "if she could tell you anything, she'd tell you to carry on," he told her, hand pressing to her front as his lips trailed down her neck.

Mitra let him press light kisses to her neck for a few seconds before pulling away and picking Mak up, "not in the middle of a store," she whispered, hand on his chest as she walked past.

Rafe ignored the growing ache in his bottom half and followed after her, paying for the outfit (much to Mitra's annoyance) whilst she changed the baby out of it and leaving.

"Next stop, us," she sang, one hand in Mak's as he walked, Rafe's finger in his other.

She led them to a flashy store that only allowed one 'party' at a time, smiling at the doorman and sauntering in.

Quiet classical music was humming in the background as they split off, Rafe taking Bernard and Mitra taking Mak.

She looked through several dresses before finding a silk one that matched Mak's outfit.

It had little material on the shoulders, with ruche detailing in the middle of each strap. It was blue, smooth and clean with a fitted chest tightened under the bust.

She smiled and held it over her chest before walking around the store some more, browsing what they had whilst Mak walked alongside her.

The little boy babbled as he wondered around, smacking his hands together as he walked.

Mitra turned round to see him dancing to the music, his knees bending then coming back up again whilst his arms flew around randomly.

She laughed and joined in, swaying her hips and her shoulders in opposite directions, laughing as the toddler danced even harder with his... Mother.

Rafe rounded a corner behind Mitra and saw her dancing, blue dress lay over her arm.

He had an idea, and moved to put the black tux back before grabbing the same one in a similar shade to her dress. He smiled and set it on the counter to be paid for.
