The robes fit perfectly, as did the shirt and the trousers and the shoes, but Draco still found himself staring in his mirror, questioning anything he could. The dark green robes reached his knees, complimenting his small figure while his white button up framed any small muscle he had.

He reached up to brush his fingers over the small badge on the fabric, feeling over the ridges and bumps of his family's crest. It was a small snake wrapping itself the letter M, standing for the richest family in England, the Malfoys.

Being honest, Draco hated being a Malfoy. He was stereotyped as an egotistical prat, and often had to act like one to please his father. But he really was a nice person, despite his image. He only had a few friends, not that they actually cared about him. His father had only let him have any sort of relationship with the children of other rich kingdoms.

His father was the king of the Potentia kingdom, witch means 'powerfulness' in latin. That meant Draco was a prince, though he never felt like one. His kingdom didn't like his father, he was a very unfair and cruel king, though they loved his mother, Narcissa.

Tonight was the night of an annual ball witch was meant for princes to find their future wives, and Draco obviously hadn't found one yet. It was pretty hard to find a wife when you aren't attracted to women.

Draco was now seventeen and had been going for four years. There weren't many men his age anymore, as they had all found eligible princesses and married off, so he usually would stand in the corner of the room watching people dance.

He only looked away from the mirror when he heard a loud knocking at his door. He took one last look at himself before straitening out his coat and walking over to the door. When he opened it, he found one of the servants waiting.

The young girl bowed her head before speaking. "The carriage is ready for you, Prince Draco."

Draco sighed at the formal gesture, witch he hated. "Thank you, Delilah." He said, nodding at her before she scurried away.

He took one more look at his room, almost asking it if he could stay there, but closed the door behind him as he stepped out. The whole castle was built out of big chunks of stone, the sound of footsteps echoing each time he stepped. Draco's room was at the top of the castle in its own tower, far away from everyone else.

Once he had reached the big double doors to exit the castle into the courtyard, he stopped to let the guards open them. When they noticed him, they perked up, immediately fixing their posture and pulling on the dark chains that were used to open the doors.

Draco nodded at them politely before walking out to the dark green carriage that awaited him. He traced his fingers over the silver engravings on the wood before opening the door for himself.

"Draco! You do not open doors for yourself!" His father yelled from inside the carriage. Draco jumped back in surprise and let footman open it the rest of the way.

Inside, his father sat rather elegantly on the black cushioned seat, his head held high as always. He had his black cane in one hand while his other rested on his knee. His robes had an outline of black fur, with Draco was sure had come from their last hunt.

He climbed in, and sat as far away from his father has he could, witch had become a habit. They traveled in silence, neither of them wanting to repeat the fight that had occurred last time. Draco had tried telling his father he wasn't ready to marry some random girl, but Lucius had exploded and told him it was his job and that if he didn't he had no right being his son.

Draco couldn't even imagine what would happen if he told his father he was gay.

The carriage stopped outside a huge white castle, with a huge garden all around its walls. The Longbottom family was known for their greenery, as well as their twenty seven huge fountains. They held the ball every year, because they had a whole wing dedicated to the ballroom.
