"A real letter has a waterproof mark, and when I stepped on the corner it lost the color, my tire was wet" Watts revealed his discovery and it was true, the red circle stained the white corner
"The mark was erased! So she's fine! I'd call my mother but unfortunately I don't have her number" Stripes wouldn't be sure until he verified the falseness of the message for himself
"We'll go straight to his house" Watts decided
"I'm glad you want to help me Watts, she lives in the rainforest"
"here we go!" she had to help him clear up the mystery and get out of that depressed state
They began their journey after preparing some food for the road. Watts was hopeful, she would be out with Stripes and knew how to deal with other trucks, for his part the tiger was quiet on the way trying to cheer himself up inside.
In the city the cake contest ended and a gold ribbon was awarded to the champion cake
"Zeg we won with our fruit combination cake" Darington yelled pointing to the dessert
"Long live the Fruitcake!" exclaimed Zeg raising the right wheel
"I hope Stripes got enough rest, he looked sad, what if we gave him the cake?" suggested Darington
"Zeg agrees, too ... Let him keep the winning ribbon" Zeg smiled reaching for the cake
"Good! That will definitely cheer him up" said Darington
The clock read 12:00 am with a clear sky. Darington made it to Stripes' house and climbed silently, bouncing up to the closed door.
"Stripes are you there? It's me again" he knocked on the door with slow knocks and when he was not heard he stood waiting with the left tire grabbing the cake
"Hello?" Starla called from the ground, she was passing by looking for Darington and she was stopped thanks to a leaf that landed on her face
"Wow Starla, calm down I'm on my way, I'll go to your house after Stripes opens the door" Darington said smiling as he knocked harder
"But Darington, Stripes is gone" Starla replied
"Like this? Why do you say it?"
"Watts said that he and she will be gone for a few days, I think it will take a long time to come back"
"Ah, at least someone managed to get him out of bed, so what am I going to do with this cake?"
"Darington Can you come down there is something I must tell you"
"Pretty soon" she held her cake firmly and went down the wooden bars
"Darío said his first word!" Shouted Starla happy at her son's achievement
"What? What? Amazing what did he say?" He could not stop smiling, it was incredible and because of the emotion of lowering the clumsiness it made him lose his balance
"Hear it yourself" he took out the little boy who was hiding in his trunk. It was a baby who inherited the color of his parents, exhaust pipes, a beautiful look and had three white stars as a symbol, when he saw his father he moved his mouth to speak again
"Happ-happy" repeated the little one for a few seconds
"Aww he's so cute! I'm super proud" Darington hugged his family and carried his son on his right wheel
"Our Darío will walk on his own and help us in everything, today for example he tried to throw the tapes as if they were ropes" said Starla
"Oh the decoration! I'm going to help you with those ribbons right now"
"I already did, it took some effort without having the best decorator but we did it"
"Then I will return the favor and take care of the music and the food, you will see that this event will be unforgettable" promised Darington
"Hahaha, let's not waste any more time dear, follow me" smiled Starla
They left, and Zeg watched them from afar fishing on a boat, with time he managed to improve pronouncing long sentences
"Yes, it's been a few years since the last meeting I had with the boys, each one lived their lives but we still talk, I love you all very much. What will Blaze, Aj, Gabby and Crusher do right now? I miss them"
