I fell asleep last night with Robin occupying my thoughts, which was relatively normal all things considered. I guess it's a good thing that no one but us knows about our feelings, you know?
Except one thing that was different from when I woke up was that Robin was the first thing on my mind, and so was Maurice. I had been thinking about how we all were dancing together in the diner to "Jailhouse Rock" and how he seemed so happy, but so quiet the whole day.
I sat up in my bed, my hair in its normal state of bed-head and my pajamas slightly wrinkled. My normal pajamas when I go to sleep are just an oversized t-shirt and a pair of fluffy pants, depending on the season.
However, I heard footsteps in the hallway. No one I know in my house runs like that ever... The door flies open to reveal Robin and Maurice, smiling widely at me. My eyes go wide.
"Good morning, sleeping beauty!" Robin exclaims.
"You're too excited for the morning, Robin," I comment, laying back down and putting the covers over my head.
Again, I hear footsteps and feel them tackle me while I'm still in bed. "Get up, Hazel! Your mom is making us breakfast!" Maurice comments, pulling the sheets off my face.
They're both sitting on the bed next to me, and I feel a slight blush creeping on my cheeks. "My hair must be a mess, huh?"
"You look great..." Maurice adds with a small smile.
In response, I smirk and say, "Well now I know you're lying because I look tired which isn't pretty."
Robin grabs my hand and pulls me up, almost too hard because I almost smacked into him. initially don't want to let go of his hand, but I do anyway. Although, I do remember that his hand felt warm. It's nice because I have cold hands...
"Good morning, honey!" Mom exclaims.
I wave tiredly at her, smelling the breakfast. "What're you making?"
"Pancakes and bacon." She doesn't look up to talk to me, as she was flipping a pancake.
I flop down on the couch, and Maurice stays in the kitchen to observe my mom cooking.
"So, how did you sleep?" Robin sits down next to me, putting an arm around the back of the couch. I did want him to put that arm around my shoulder, but whatever.
"Good, until you woke me up!" I replied, smacking him in the leg lightly.
He and I burst into laughter. "Don't tell me you didn't enjoy waking up seeing my face!" He smirks, and I blush because he is true on some account.
"Well, you're not wrong..." I laugh, throwing my head back.
"I never got a chance to say good morning to you, Hazel." I heard Mo shouting from the kitchen and I turn to see him smiling at me. He did have a pretty great smile, and it was one of his best features.
"Well, good morning then," I reply with a smile also.
"Breakfast is ready," Mom announces.
Robin and I get up, and I join Maurice at the table, Robin sitting next to me also.
"Hazel, I was wondering if you wanted to hang out just the two of us today at my house. You know, because we never really get to hang out," Maurice offers, a hopeful look on his face.
"Funny you should say something, Mo because I was gonna ask her if she wanted to hang out with me today!" Robin comes back.
I didn't know what to say to either of them, to be honest. But then the answer came to me. "Well, since Mo asked my first I'll spend some time with him at your house for a bit. Then, Robin, you and I can go wherever you wanted," I suggested.
