Chapter 12

MATTHEW POV (finally!)

I woke up early this morning. It was 7:30a.m. Zoey usually wakes up at 6:30. Now she actually just stayed in bed. But it's a good thing we have no school today. I feel really bad. I know she gets bullied. I see her everyday getting bullied. I always try to help but I never have the guts to help.

I went to see if my mom and dad were up. They weren't, they were in bed. I went to check on Zoey. Of course. She wasn't there! She escaped. I wasn't surprised. She would have gone out someday anyway. I opened the front door. I was seeing if I could see her. Nope. I went upstairs again. There was a note on her bed.

I read it. I rushed to my mom and dad's room. "Mom! Dad! Wake up!" I yelled. "What what!???" They said. "Look at this." I said handing them the note. "She escaped?!" My mom yelled. "Yes." I said. "You shouldn't be surprised, she would have gone out anyway." I said. "We are going back to LA then." My mom said.

"NO. Then she'd just escape again! There's no reason. Just call her and talk to her! We're not going back to LA!" I said. She sighed. She got her phone out and called Zoey.

ZOEY POV

I was so tired. I was still walking. I didn't sleep last night. It was so hard to see. I should have brought a flashlight. Just then I had a phone call. I was hoping it to be Nash but it was my mom. Oh no. I answered. "Hello?" I said. "WHY DID YOU ESCAPE HOW DARE YOU DISOBEY ME!!!" She yelled.

"Read the note! You don't understand at all! What if you were me!!!? Would you like to be kicked and punched and slapped!?!?!? I bet not! So why are you doing this to me! Just for going to jail for five minutes!?" I yelled. She stayed silent. Then she hung up. I got her this time.

I don't really care if I'm not going to talk to her for about my whole life now. She doesn't know how much I just want to be with my friends. I put my phone away. Then I had another call. I sighed and took it out. Yes! It's Nash! I took it put excited.

"Hey!" I said. "Hey. You still walking?" He asked. "Well yeah." I said. "Have your parents found out?" He asked. "Yeah." I said. "Oh." He said a little upset. "I don't think their coming back though. They called me and they just stayed silent and just hung up." I said. "Oh. Well call me again if you have the time." He said. "Ok bye." I said and smiled.
