Park Jimin. Who is he? Depending on who you'd ask, you'd most likely receive different answers.
Paxim's employees would tell you stories about their dashing, reliable, and determined boss whose passion for the company would occasionally border an obsessive and overbearing behaviour.
His assistant would tell you that he is a man who appreciated the craft of a vintage and luxury car but would go through extensive lengths to avoid sitting through a car ride, whether long or short distance.
His friends would tell you that he is the broody yet lovable, mother of the group with a heart of gold and an unheathily high alcohol tolerance.
If you were to pick out an upper-class socialite you passed by, they would simply tell tales of some distant circulated rumours regarding the desirable man's escapades.
But one thing everyone who truly knew Park Jimin knew that he valued his family above all else.
Jimin was sort of like the middle child. Although he had two younger siblings and an older brother, his sister was treated more like a younger sibling than a middle child. Middle child syndrome may not apply to every middle child but it was the exact case with Jimin. Although their mom tried to spread her time equally amongst the four of her children, the absence of their dad in Jimin's life in comparison to his siblings did take a toll on him.
Jimin was born the very same year that Paxim started to grow exponentially and expand to countries outside of South Korea. Being the Chairman and also then CEO of Paxim, Mr Park's work-life had to take the front seat over and above all else to ensure the success of the company. Then two years later, Jimin's sister was born and Paxim was more stable. Jimin's dad became more present as a father but not so much to his non infant children.
So while typically the middle child would act out for attention, Jimin was quite the opposite. He did everything right, or at least he tried his uttermost to. Get straight A's, he did it. Participate in school sports and become class president, he did it. Studying business in one of the world's best universities and taking over the family business, Jimin was on it. However, despite his extensive efforts to gain the appreciation and approval of his father, it never seemed to be good enough. Jimin assumed this to be the reason why his father showed no intention of stepping down as the Chairman of Paxim; that and his father's love of control. Frankly, Mr Park didn't trust Jimin to get the job done right despite all of Jimin's successes. To Jimin, this made his father's approval all the more valuable.
All four Park siblings had different experiences and personalities but were united by their tight-knit bond and love for each other. Every one of them would step up for the other in a heartbeat despite them living completely separate lives and rarely meeting up in person. So when Jimin received the text to meet up from his younger brother he justifiably took the opportunity, pushing all else aside.
"Brother" Jimin effusively approached his kinsperson who was seated at a corner booth. The subtle refracting rays of light from a nearby window shone over of his familiar. "Did I make you wait too long?" Jimin took a seat on the black velvet couch opposite his brother.
