Hey! Sorry it took so freaking long but I had started it...when I was like wait. I can do better so here it is!
So even if it's not that good I'm proud of it so really that's all that matters. But anywho here it is! 13!
Bones pov
"Um...I think bone..? Yea! Bone! It's a perfect name for you!" Kim yelled smiling at me. I looked away, grumbling, "What right does she have to name me?! It's not like she owns me-"
"Correction she does. Your hers so deal with it. She's only giving you a nickname cause...it's just her thing. Let her be and take the dang name or else!" I growled rounding on shin, "Or else what? You'll bite me?! Your little master wouldn't like that would she..?" shin looked somewhat offended, "Why you little-! You have no respect! She saved you, and has taken you in! You know she could have just left you out in the street for dead! It would have made one less selfish houndoom out there but you know why she didn't?" I opened my mouth but she just continued, "Because she cares!" I paused, not knowing how to defend my self there. Shin sniffed and walked away, while Kim had steped out of the room. 'She cares...' noone had ever really cared for me, yea my pack...but there weren't all that close.
I had fell asleep with those two words echoing inside my head, she cares. I felt pretty bad there. I decided there I would try to act better, cause I hated to admit it but I was starting to care too....
I woke up feeling like dirt. "Ow..." I flinched as I moved myself to a sitting postion. Man what happened- oh yea...that dang electrike! Sneaking up on me right when I was about to attack that thug that had grabed Kim, what a cheap trick! Wait-Kim! Where is she?! I looked around only to just realize I was in a cage. Not again?! I yelled silently. Suddenly a voice boomed around the room, "Attention everyone in the building, we have successfully transfered the PM-X virus into it's host! Now to celebrate everyone get out of here! And go on your regular misson assignments! That's right you heard me! Move!" some humans moved past my cage grumbling to them selfs not taking notice to me waking up, and walked out of the room. Once they were out of-well my- ear shot I decided to get fimillair with my surroundings. "Ok...let's see." I muttered to myself. God, shin owes me after this. The cage bars looked like steel...fire wouldn't melt them fast enough, and just might end up cooking me in here so I think I'll use crunch! I ran at the bars and grabed one in my mouth feeling my jaw suddenly gain force and smashed the bar to bits. "Bone...you rock." I told myself. After breaking about four more bars I busted out. Okay...which way...I sniffed the air finding faint traces of Kim! They were stale but she had been past here, good. But then my nose picked up something else...shin! She was here, and close! I sniffed again, wait...there heading in the same direction! Making sure no one was in the long hallway, I put my nose to ground and followed.
I followed the scent trail, when I came to a room. I smelled the air, shin was in there...but Kim...her scent was stale. I took quick peek in, and my blood ran cold. Before my common sense kicked in I dashed into the room, and stopped at the, so painfully, fimillair lump of fur on the ground. I ran forward, no! No! She can't be. I couldn't hear her beathing. I gently put a paw on her head, she was cold. "Shin! Shin! Are you okay?!" I yelled, my voice tigthening. She didn't move. I put my head down fearing the worse when, "Bone-bone is that you?" a shaky voice came from the lump of fur in front of me. I looked up alarmed, "Shin?!" my voice shook, then I saw it. Her flank slowly rising up and down. I can't believe I hadn't seen that! "Shin! Shin, yes it's me. I'm here. Are you okay?" all my words came out in a rush, but I didn't care, she was alive that's all I needed. I looked at her face, she still had her eyes closed, she let in a shaky breath. "i'm- I'm fine...I think. Bone...will you tell me something?" she asked, her voice shaking. I nodded but then realized she couldn't see me, "Yea, yea shin anything." she was quiet for a while when she asked, "Bone...am...I dead yet?" I growled softly somewhat shocked, "Dead?! Dead! You better hope not or else I'm dead too." the coners of her mouth twitched as if she was trying to smile, "I can't believe I missed your sarcasticness. And yea...I guess being dead doesn't hurt this much." she said flinching slighty as she drew in another breath. I tensed, not knowing what else to do, "Shin, are you okay? Can you move? Can-" I broke off when she suddenly went into a coughing fit. "Shin!" I yelled alarmed. What was I todo?! She stiffly shook her head, "No, I-I'm okay." I sighed, "Good, come on shin. We have to go! We have to find Kim!" at her name shins eyes opened slighty, "Kim? Bone...she was here." her voice seemed to tighten, "I let them take her. I couldn't do anything." she coughed again, then her eyes closed again. "Bone...will you promise me something?" I growled "Shin, we can make all the promises later. First we have to-"
"bone! I-I can't feel my legs. I can barley open my eyes. Please will you promise me something?" she asked desperatly. My throat seemed to go dry, but I still replied, "Yea shin. Anything." she sighed slighty, and for the first time I noticed the dark lines running down her muzzle. Shin was crying...my shin, my best firend, the one who was so tough, strong as nails...was crying. I shifted forwards and licked some of her tears, the salty tang burned my tounge knowing it came from her. "Bone, please. Promise me, no matter what...you'll look after Kim. You'll be there when she cries, you'll be there to make her smile, make her laugh. Please...be there in my place." I growled, louder then I expected but it didn't matter. What was shin saying?! '...be there in my place' ?! What could she mean by- "No! Shin, hear me now your not dieing! Your not leaving Kim! Your not leaving me!" I roared. Her body shook and I could tell she was trying to hold back a cough, I-somehow I have to get her out of here. Then she opened her eyes all the way, staring striaght at me, but her eyes were cloudy and I knew she couldnt really see me. "Bone...you know kim's a hunter right? Did you know I've always known." she paused slighty as if to let the info sink in. Wait she knew?! I opened my mouth but she contiuned, "Dont be mad at her. She doesn't mean to do the things she does, she didn't mean to chosse this road. But...isn't that how faith works? Did you know it was there, that night we meet you, Kim had just finished a mission. If not...maybe that night you wouldn't be here now. So please be kind to her." then I heard it, the sounds of foot steped coming down the hallway, No! No! "Shin! Shin! I-I have to-"
"No! Hide! Go now!" she hissed flashing her fangs weakly. I felt tears blur my vision, "Shin! No, please-" I started pleading,
"Bone! Go," I was torn, I couldn't just leave her-the footsteps were closer, now with voices. I turned, tears silently falling. I'm sorry, so sorry shin. I whipered silenty. "Bone," she called back weakly. I turned slighty. "You promise?" she asked, staring at me with those blank eyes. "Yes...I promise." her face lit up, almost like she was little again. The voices were louder, I slunk under a table watching closely ready to spring out if needed. Shin didn't respond again. Then two males walked in to the room, I heard one gasp as he spotted shin. The other one asked, "Is that the pokemon Alex asked for?" the one that gasped turned on him sharply, "Do see any other pokemon?!" followed by the sound of someone getting hit and an 'Owww!!'
Stupid humans....I couldn't help but think. As they came closer to shin I noticed one had a name tag on his shirt, Kyle. Kyle looked over shin then looked back towards his partner, "Go check if it's awake." his firend went pale, "What?! What if it's awake? What if-"
"What if you don't get your check at the end of the month? Come on, doc said she should be out. Just go check." his firend gulped but nodded and started moving towards shin. I growled slighty as he drew closer, I swear if he hurts her...he was over shin, slowly leaning down, he placed his hand on her flank. For some reason when his face went pale again my throat tightened, why did I feel sick suddenly-
"Frank! It's-It's dead!" his voice rang thorugh the room, echoing in my ears. No! No! She-she had just been-then i realized I had noticed her breathing had been getting shallower. But no! Shin was a fighter! She wouldn't just die! "You promised..." I jumped slighty as a voice spoke softly in head. Shin? No...it's can't be. But then like that it was gone, leaving me alone. I looked at the humans again, somehow they had already gotten her on a moving table thing..."Are you sure we should bring it to Alex like...this?"
Kyle shurgged, "Alex said he wanted it. And besides it would be that doc's fault. He's the one that injected her. No skin off my back." with that they started rolling her out of the room. Once everyone was out of the room I felt my mental walls break down. Shin was gone! She was dead! Tears stained my muzzle. She had been my first real firend! I-I let her down. I-I can't believe she trusted me! No one can trust me! I'm nothing but a coward! "You promised..." the ghostly whisper echoed in my mind once again. No, I can't give up. I still have Kim. As long as there's one person who still believes in me...I can make it. Shin I won't let you down this time. And Kim, where ever you are I'm coming! So be ready! I yelled in side my head, and with out even a glance around the room I took off, running down the hallway. All need to do is find an exit...or make one of my own. A wicked grin appeared on my face.
