Bone
I'm an idiot! I was so caught up in my own thoughts I hadn't noticed her scent change! She was sick. Dang it! If she hadn't stayed out in the rain that night! Freak! I was panicking.
Why?
My heart was racing.
Why!
I didn't know what to do... I was scared.
Why?!
I was scared for her...
She was limp in my jaws.
Was that normal? Is she supposed to be?
She'll be alright. She has to be.
I can't let some else die!
I froze at the thought.
Was that what I was afraid of? Someone else dying...when I could have helped.
She whined, taking me out of my thoughts.
I mentally shook myself and pressed on.
I can't get distracted so easily.
I have to find a trainer or a poké center.
Starly flew over head, heading east, back to their nests. The sun must be setting.
That set my blood pumping.
How long have we just been there talking?! I need to find-
My pace quickened on its own when I caught his scent.
It had to be! Please! Please! Let it be!
She dangled in my jaws, still unmoving.

Zubat flew all around us as I reached his...house?
Did he move?
That didn't matter! I yelled at myself, rushing up to the door. He was here, he could make her better. He had too. Knowing him he'd be asleep by now... She shivered in my jaws yet again making a pained noise.
I have to make him wake up.
Gently setting her on the porch, I walked up to the door.
Hopefully this works.
I hit the door full force, hearing it creak at the blow.
This has to wake him up...
I soft growl came from the other side…Jeff?
The growl sounded again, “who’s there!?” It was Jeff! He smelled the air; “bone?” his voice was full of surprise.
A light went on inside the cabin. My ears flicked forward at the sound of footsteps.
Then I realized...I didn't have a plan! If it was Dave, should I let him see me? Or- No. He'll try to take me in. I need to find Kim. That means...
I looked towards her.
I have to leave.
The footsteps where closer, but still slow and sluggish.
I have to…Pressing my nose to her forehead, be safe.
The door unlocked, just as I jumped into the bushes.
"What-," Dave said, his voice thick with sleep, til "oh god! Aww...it's ok..." his voice was soft and caring. He would look after her. I don't need to worry.
Now...I just have to find Kim. Dave walked back inside carrying her, while Jeff stayed inside, staring out. Til the door closed.
But as I walked away, I felt someone press against me. Only one person did that…and she only did it to catch my attention when I missed something. I looked back, only to catch a scent.
A scent that even now scent my heart racing...shin.
I shook my head, trying my best to play off a smile. My mind was tricking me...that’s all it was.
That’s all it had to be.
Kim
Professor Kevin smiled at me, revealing yellowed teeth. "What’s her name, Kim?" I paused tapping my chin, after all this is going to be her name for like forever.
"Shinx...shinx...shin!" my eyes lit up after minutes of mumbling. Kevin smiled nodding, while something dark swam beneath his eyes.
'Had he been planning it? In the very beginning had he known how this would work? Me joining them...shin getting taken...shin dying...me changing. Had he planned all of this down to a science? And if he had, why? Or rather how...how had he known my movements? Had it been from those few years of helping him...was I that predictable?!
"Shin, that's sounds like a wonderful name." he smiled while he said it handing shin’s pokéball to me.
'There in his voice...was disgust. How had I not heard it?!'
I smiled at him, holding shin close, "Really? I made it up at the top of my head." he nodded seeming like he was listening as he moved away. Shin muzzled closer to me, "Shinx!" her eyes were bright, and she looked really happy.
'Shin...why hadn't I noticed earlier?! If I had...would you still be-'
"Kim you can go now." Kevin said with his back towards me, no longer caring. I nodded and took shin with me both of us smiling.
'Why?! Why are we so happy? You were just told to go away! Why are you so happy! See the signs!'
"Shin...that's your name now. Ok? I hope you like it. And see you and me. We're gonna be the strongest battlers ever! We'll win every battle! And we'll even beat the sinnoh league. Just wait!" I was smiling, yelling to the world my plans. Shin sat there listening to my rant smiling. Her eyes were bright...
'She wanted to make that dream come true didn't she?'
I sat down next to her, rubbing her head and staring at the clouds. Everything was quiet til we turned our head to see Dave clumsily making his way up the hill. "Kim!" he gasped, reaching the top. Shin titled her head at him.
'It was the first time she meet him... The first time he met her.'
"Electrike. Electrike. I need you to wake up a moment." a soft voice drifted into my mind. Who was that? It didn't sound like bone... My eyes fluttered open a moment only to quickly shut at the bright light. The voice chuckled, "Sorry about that." he paused then I felt something pressed against my mouth, "Drink." he encouraged softly. Then without warning he titled it and it made its slimy way down my throat. I tried to move away but...I couldn't move! I growled, this stuff tasted nasty! The voice hushed me, "its ok. Sorry, I know the stuff must taste horrible but you need it." I gave another soft growl but my mind was going fuzzy again. I sighed, letting the darkness numb me.
