I'm no fool. I could hear what professor what's his face was saying.....he told Dave that Kim hadn't been herself for years. Saying how he can't reach her anymore and what not...but that's crazy. Kim hasn't changed. And most importantly he said, "Keep your eyes on her..." I was bewildered by that part. I mean...what did they think Kim was? I mean yeah now they both know that Kim lied about shin....but what I don't get is why ain't she tellin them about the hunters? No, maybe that would put them I danger....and she doesn't want that. I came and sat by her as Dave finished the call. I could see it too. He was confused, angry, sad, but in a flash he consealed it by a mask. I sniffed, I thought I was good at hiding my emotions. I rubbed Kims hand, I could see she was worried now that the(well half truth anyway) was out. I heard her say something to Dave but he didn't repond. Stupid human....I thought. Then felt her hand brush my head. I looked up and met her eyes. She looked amost close to tears. "What am I going to do?" she whispered. I looked away, how are we going to get shin back? I wasn't a fool there. Shin was kims first and favorite. And I knew even though I was kims second I couldn't compare to the bond they had. I sighed inside, I didn't want to see her cry, I had to get shin back for her. I grunted, a sudden flash of insperation swaggered into the room, finding a coner to sleep in. I walked up to mightyhena. He growled, " Well, well. Look what the purugly draged in." he said with smug look on his face. I was about to say something stinging when I rembered why I came over here. I lowered my head, showing him respect. Although all mightyhenas are low life no good- suddenly I was caught up in a flash back.
The nigh had been silent. Too silent is what are pack leader had said the moment before the rouge pack of mightyhenas brust in to our camp. They ripped our camp to sherds and made everyone scatter in different dirrections. I was scared only a houndour at the time. Didn't know any better so I started running away. Far away. Even after I couldn't hear howls of pain and trumpih I still ran. Four days went by when I finally relized I had abaonded my pack. I had ran away, I was a coward. I was weak. I was not meant to have other people depend on me. Or at least that's how I had felt....until one night I had stumbled out into a street somewhere. Tired and weak, of no food or water. Not to mention being beating in every fight someone picked with me. Suddenly lights lit up in front of me, there is where I gave up. I had given up every will to live. I didn't diserver it. I was nothing. Then someone screamed out and the car swerved to the side barley missing me. Suddenly I was ingulfed in arms, somehow being lifted and I blacked out......
"you may sit...." mightyhena said. I nodded. "Might-" "Call me Jeff. That's what daves calls me." "Okay....Jeff. I need info." he looked confused, then reliztion came ove his face. He nodded slowly. "Of cousre. That's why you would come here so willing.....you wish to find your firend shin? For Kim?" he asked. I was taken back. "But how-" "Please. Your not the only one with good ears." he said smirking. "Okay....but how did you know she's missing...?" he chuckled, "Please. You think I'm a fool? Any one can see that those two are inseparable. Even Dave knew she was lying to him, but he wanted to see if she say why....." I was frozen. Was kim so easy to read....if so. She could be putting Dave and herself in more danger then I reliazed. I heard him sigh, "Its was the hunters that had taken her right?" I noded, wary of how much he knew. "How-" he shook his head. "Bone, your young you should know this....smell. The hunters scent is all over the place." I looked at him confused. "What scent?" the only scent I smelled was daves, kims, and the rest of us. He shook his head looking disapionted. "Bone, really? Didn't you get a good whiff of the hunters that took shin?" I noded, what did that have to with any- "Didnt you notice it?" he asked suddenly. I tittled my head. What was this old man talking about. He sighed. "everyone of them was different....but in the end they all had one scent in common." he paused. I guess it was for dramatic effect. Well it was working cause the longer the pause went I felt my self uneasy. What did he mean?! Think....think....think...
