Stay by Lewis Watson, "it was so clear, but now it's gone,"
I was eating my burger and fries as I got a call. I checked the caller I.D and almost laughed out loud as I answered. When I say almost, I didn't mean it. I laughed out loud in the grill and got a few stares, "whoo!" I shouted and they all turned back to their beer/food.
"Hello?" I answered and I don't get a reply until a few seconds later.
"Luc," her voice was quiet and I mentally feint a sigh, "it's over," she says and I smile. I already knew that.
"What's over?" I ask, sounding concerned.
She chuckles humorlessly, "the wedding, engagement, all of it! It's over... I'm- happy," she lets out a breath and I pump my fist in the air. I press the mute button, "yes bitches!" I shout into the bar and people shout back ,"yeah!" I laugh as I unmute the call.
"That's great, blue," I say and she chuckles.
"Can I see you?" She asks and I agree, telling her to meet me at our spot upon the top of the city where I first told her loved her.
I pay for my food, end the call, and in one swift moment, I get my mojo back. I pull my shades over my eyes and I walk out the bar without paying too.
That moment didn't last long as I was getting shoved into the wall for a perpetual "dine and dash" I apologized and pretending to be buzzed. They let me off with a warning and paid my food.
"Aye Captain!" I mumbled and the bartender rolls his eyes and shoos me out of the grill. I head off to see her.
Once I'm on top of the mountain, she's waiting. She's in a sundress and her hair is down. Her skin is golden, tan with a Carmel tint. Her hair is getting lighter with the bright sun.
I clear my throat as I make my presence known and I take a seat next to her. She smiles at me and I do the same, "I remember this place," she says and I nod, "it's always a happy place to be..."
"Yeah,"
"Where do you see yourself in five years?" She asks abruptly.
"Broke," I tease and she slaps my arm, "okay, sorry, a millionaire," I surrender my hands and she narrows her eyes at me. "Somewhere great..." I say with all seriousness ado.
"That's it?" She asks and I nod.
"I see myself in a relationship, happy," I shrug, knowing this is going to be easy. I'm about to break this bitch's heart.
"Go to Italy with me," she says abruptly and my eyes widen.
"No," I said and she eyes me with confusion. I stand up and pump my fist in the air, "yes! I rejected her! I won the battle bitches!" I shouted at the top of my lungs on top of the mountain. I looked down at her and her mouth gapes, "I rejected you Aria, I don't want you, or your stupid excuses! My brother is done with you and so am I, so suck my-" my phone started to ring and I checked caller I.D to see my mom calling. I answered, "hey mom, I'm about to break this girl's heart," and hung up.
"Dick," I finished and she doesn't blink.
"Really...?" She chastises and I nod. She stands up where she's facing me and before I could do anything she kisses me hard. It lasted for about thirty seconds with a lot of ass grabbing, my specialty, "I'm going to ask you one more time, come to Italy with me?" She asks and I'm taken back.
Fuck it, "let's go,"
