I read the head line of Ezra cities latest newspaper,
WAR IS AMONG US!!! PREPARE YOURSELVES!!!
I scoffed, the last thing we need is a war between our two countries. The country of Ezra and the neighboring country, Beth, have been at each other's throats for decades. No ezraian ever speaks to a bethian, and no bethian ever speaks to a ezrian. It's like a family feud that just never ends.

I put my newspaper into my satchel that is slung over my one shoulder, and walked out of the newspaper building. I turned down the busy street and headed in the direction of the public library. The streets are full of people either walking to work, heading into stores, or waiting for a car to come pick them up, I believe they are called taxis. In the past couple years the car was just invented, it is a safer faster way to travel and definitely will do well in a busy city.  I continued down the sidewalk and could see the library a few buildings down. It was a big three story building, nothing special on the outside, but on the inside it was beautiful, laced with rows upon rows of bookshelves. To get to the different levels you had to walk up spiral stairs, and when you first walk in it is wide open and you can look up and see the different levels.

I walk in the front door of the library and take in the view of all the books, then I see one of my good friends Liliana sitting at the front desk. Liliana helps people check out books and works the whole book organizing system. She looks like your basic librarian except 40 years younger, because she is actually 23 years old with short wavy brown hair and is quite tall.

"Hello Eliza, how are you? Here to check out some books?" Liliana smiles at me
"Why in fact I am, I know that Aurora had a few art books she suggested to me, and I thought I might as well check them out, I'm off to paint you see" I gesture to my satchel and art box in my left hand.
"Ah yes, beautiful day for painting, Aurora is on the second level re-stocking some books, if you don't see her then listening for the loud sighing, restocking books is her least favourite task." Liliana laughed then returned to her desk duties.

Aurora is another good friend, with her and Liliana working here I get the inside scoop on all the latest books brought in. Some of the new books were art books, Aurora already skimmed through them and suggested them to me. She loves to draw and sketch and wants it to become her career someday.

I made my way over to the spiral staircase and headed up, I decided to leave my art box and satchel at the base of the stairs though, they would have been way too awkward to carry up. I started to scan the isles for Aurora's petit figure, and even listened for sighing.
"Well look who's finally stopping by" I heard from down one of the bookshelves. Glancing to my right to see Aurora with her usual grin and wide set eyes. Strolling down the aisle with a stack of books in her arms.

"Aurora" I greeted with a smile as she slowly came to a stop.
"What brings you in here? Are you finally coming to check out all my recommendations?" Aurora asked practically jumping while trying to hold the books steadily in her hands.
"Why do you keep saying finally I come in here almost every day"
Aurora shrugged, shifting the books in her grip.
"I don't know I guess business has just been kinda slow lately. Liliana and I have re organized books at least three times this week. I guess people just aren't interested in looking through books nowadays" Aurora let out a heavy sigh.
"That's probably because of that crazy nonsense in the paper"
"You mean that war mumbo jumbo?" Aurora asked with an eye roll. Tacking one of the books down from the stack in her hands and sliding it into an empty space on the shelf beside the two of us.
"Yeah, It's crazy that something like this could come from a feud like that" I side with a sigh
"Yeah, well, anyways here are the three books I suggested" Aurora said letting the stack of books in her hand drop to the ground with a large 'thump' I cringed, the poor books.
"Oh don't worry, they're not important, there only on geography are something" She said while moving down the aisle and pulling out three books with fancy creative colours on the covers.  "Here ya go" she continued while passing them to me
"Thank you, oh and I was wondering if I could borrow your bike by any chance?" I asked needing some type of quick transportation.
Aurora give me a deadpan look "The last time you asked that you returned it to me with two flat wheels, I think you kinda need air in the tires to use it"
I cringed, I remember that I accidentally ran the bike into some kind of building sight, you can ask me how but I don't even know. "Ok well I promise It won't happen again, and I'll even buy you some of Everly's famous cookies" I smiled knowing that when it comes to food and Aurora she can't resist.
"I-I see what you did there...fine but make sure to get me the chocolate chip ones not raisin, like who puts raisin in cookies" Aurora finalized
"Thank you so much" I said while giving her a big hug
"I expect those cookies to come back with the bike by the end of the day" She said, staring me down and pointing her index finger at me. I smiled in response and headed down towards the lobby giving a quick wave to Liliana and headed down to the back of the building to grab Aurora's bike. The bike was nothing special but thankfully had a basket. I plopped my satchel and art box in the basket, hopped on, and headed towards the edge of the city.
