After dressing in a tank top, shorts and hiking shoes, Ciel stood in the bathroom staring into the mirror.
He noticed that he looked more energetic than usual.
Whenever he woke, he would barley have any energy until he ate something.Last nights activities included closing up the shop then heading over to the book store.
-
Browsing through different books, he came across a book about a girl who had cancer. The girl wished to travel the world before she died. Her boyfriend wished for her to be happy for the remainder of her life, so he decided to take her on a world wide adventure.Thinking the book would be good, Ciel purchased it at the counter.
After leaving the shop, he made his way back home to start reading the book.Five hours later, he finished the last chapter then closed the book with a long sigh.
"What a sad ending," he said with a hint of remorse in his voice. After placing the book on his book shelf, he hopped into bed and turned off the light.
-Leaving the bathroom, Ciel rummaged through his closet looking for his hiking pack.
Finding it hanging behind his jacket, he lifted it off the hook then took it into the kitchen.Placing it on the floor by the table, he walked over to the pantry to gather supplies for his morning scones and tea.
Less than 30 minutes later, Ciel finished his breakfast. He picked up his dishes then walked over to the sink placing them down.
He took a water bottle out of the fridge and dropped it into his pack along with several sweet treats.
Returning to his bathroom, Ciel grabbed the sunglasses laying on the counter. Taking one last look in the mirror, he grinned at his reflection then walked back to the kitchen.
Grabbing his pack off the floor, he proceeded to walk out the back door.
Feeling a breeze run through his hair, Ciel shut and locked the door.
A smile slowly spread across his face as he descended down the porch stairs. He stopped when his shoes touched the wet grass. He stood there for a moment taking in his surroundings. The air smelt like wet pine which sent a wave of relaxation through Ciel. Birds chirped in the trees and flew through the sky. The sun had just barley risen, yet warmth radiated down on everything it's light touched.
After taking a quick glance back at his house Ciel started walking towards the trees that made up the border of the woods.
Not knowing where the cabin could be (or if it even existed), Ciel started walking in a straight line.
The woods were so beautiful and full of so much life. Even if the cabin wasn't real, he would still enjoy this little adventure. After walking for a half hour, Ciel saw something out of the corner of his eye. Slowly turning to the left, he saw a deer poke out from behind a tree.
After a few seconds of standing still, the deer moved out into the open followed by her two little babies. They awkwardly danced around their mothers legs before running off in the opposite direction.
Ciel wondered why they ran off in such a hurry. He'd made sure that he stayed still and quiet, so he knew he couldn't have frightened them. After looking around at the trees and bushes, he decided to move forward.
About to step over a fallen tree, he heard a twig crack behind him. Scaring him half to death, the sudden noise sent him falling face forward onto the broken tree.
Thwack! Was the last sound he heard before everything around him went completely black.
