~3rd Person P.O.V.~

A h/c haired girl stood inside her room, looking out the window, fear showing in her eyes as she looked up at the night sky. Planes flew above, bombs dropping from them. Just then, her door opens, revealing an older woman, quickly walking in to get to her daughter.

"Y/n!" Her mother exclaims in fear. "Come on!"

The mother and daughter frantically grab some things, such as blankets and a bag of food they had packed, before running outside as planes flew right above their home. More and more bombs dropped around them, luckily not hitting them.

The mother quickly opened the door, pushing her daughter in before getting in herself. Holding the h/c haired girl in her arms, the two of them listened to the commotion going on outside.

~

The two walked in the train station. The girl had her bags packed as her mother searched for a certain family in the crowd. The e/c eyed girl was evacuating London, without her mother. Fortunately, she would be with her best friends.

The Pevensie siblings.

She was good friends with all four of them, but was the closest with the second youngest.

Edmund Pevensie.

It might have been because the two were the same age, but they had been best friends since birth. Just like their mothers. Both kids had their fathers in the war that was currently going on. The two walk through the crowd as the Pevensie family stood a couple feet in front of them.

Once they got there, the two mothers greeted each other with a hug, as the girl looked for her best friend from behind her mother. The Pevensie boy was doing the same, upon seeing her mother there.

What the two had no clue about, was that they had feelings for each other. They knew that they had feelings for one another, just didn't know that the other person felt the same.

Finally, the e/c eyes girl came into his eye, making a smile break out slightly. "Y/n!"

Upon hearing her name, she looked over, meeting the boys eyes. "Edmund!"

Running forward, they greeted each other with a tight hug. Edmund buries his face in Y/n's neck, pulling her impossibly closer to him. They soon pulled away, before she greeted Edmund's siblings. Peter, Susan, and Lucy.

After she greeted them, the Pevensie siblings said goodbye to their mother, as Y/n said bye to hers.

Cupping her daughters cheeks, a few tears fell out of her mothers eyes. "Y/n, darling. You be safe. And you listen to Peter, alright?" Y/n's mother trusted the Pevensie family. And since Peter was the oldest, she trusted him to watch her daughter, just like he was doing with his siblings.

And Peter was gonna do exactly that. Just like his other siblings, Peter felt like Y/n was another little sister to him. So, he'd watch and keep her safe, just like his other siblings.

"I love you, honey." Y/n's mother said before pulling her into a hug.

"I love you, too." Y/n croaked out, a few tears slipping.

As the two moms went to stand beside each other, their children started walking away. Edmund and Y/n held onto each others hands tightly. Both kids gave the woman their tickets before walking forward a little, Peter being after them.

"May I have your tickets, please?" The woman asked the oldest. Peter didn't hear, as he was distracted by something in the distance. "Tickets, please."

"Peter." Susan sighed, grabbing Peter's ticket and handing it to the woman.

"That's right. On you go." The woman said after checking Peter's ticket.

Susan, Edmund, and Y/n hopped on the train, Peter and Lucy joining a couple seconds after. Their mothers made their way to the front of the crowd, as the five children popped their heads out the window, soon waving at their mothers as the train started moving.

~

The five kids were led to a compartment, where two other kids sat. Putting his bag up above, Edmund turned to Y/n, taking her bag and putting it up with his before she could protest.

~

Edmund and Y/n sat on one side of the compartment, Susan and Lucy beside them, as well. While Peter sat across from them, sitting in silence. Edmund rested his elbow on the windowsill, looking out the window, as Y/n rested her head on the boys shoulder, following his gaze.

~

The train had soon come to a stop, making the five children look out the window, watching the two kids, that sat in the same compartment as them, be checked by adults before being led away from their sight.

All five of them glanced at each other, just before the train started to move again.

~

The train was still moving at it's quick pace. Peter still sat across from the others, resting his hand on the side of his head.

Y/n's head continued to rest on Edmund's shoulder, their hands close together, fingers brushing. Edmund's head rested softly on top of Y/n's, making sure not to crush her as he occasionally glanced down at her.

~

The five finally came to their stop. Seeing a car drive by, they grab their bags, jogging down the stairs, thinking it was the person coming to pick them up. Unfortunately, the driver was not their for them as they drove past the Pevensie's and Y/n.

"The professor knew we were coming." Susan spoke up.

"Perhaps we've been incorrectly labeled." Edmund commented, checking the tag on his jacket.

Hearing a distant voice feet away, the five snapped their heads to where the car had came, soon seeing a carriage, a horse leading the way as a woman sat in the front. Soon, the woman came to a stop right in front of them.

Sharing a look with Susan, Peter looked back at the lady. "Mrs. Macready?"

"I'm afraid so." She answered. "Is this it, then? Haven't you brought anything else?"

"No, ma'am." Peter answered for them all. "It's just us."

Lucy nodded in agreement to what her brother said, making the woman raise her brows. "Small favors."

~

The children sat in the back of the carriage as Mrs. Macready led them to the professors house. Soon getting there, the kids looked around in awe as they all walked in.

"Professor Kirke is not accustomed to having children in this house." Mrs. Macready explained. "And, as such, there are a few rules we need to follow. There will be no shouting. Or running. No improper use of the dumbwaiter." As the woman was listing things off, Susan was just about to touch a small statue that laid in front of her, making Mrs. Macready raise her voice. "No touching of the historical artifacts! And above all, there shall be no disturbing of the professor."

The children glanced at each other before following after the woman.

~

Later in the evening, Y/n stood in her room, softly brushing her hair when she heard a gentle knock at her door.

"Come on." She called out.

The person obeyed, revealing Edmund at the door, staring at her. "I-I just wanted to say good night."

Turning around at the boys voice, she smiled softly at him. "Oh, Edmund. Uh, have a good night."

Edmund smiles softly at her back, pulling her in a hug, which she gratefully returned. They stayed like that for a couple seconds, before Edmund pecked her cheek, then rushing out of the room, heat rising to both their cheeks at his action.

As the two lay in bed, there was only one thing going on in Edmund's mind, and one in Y/n's.

Edmund...

Y/n...
