Jack Moral smiled as he crouched over Camilla Red's dead body. She was found this morning, in the patch of woods
by The Blue Hippo Bar And Grill. Police swarmed the area, taking pictures and examining the body. Fat police Chief Dalto made a statement to the press.
"Camilla Red was going through hard times before her death," he slurred. "She was a valued member of this force and the town. Thank you, we will release further information tonight." The reporters clamored at him as he walked back into the "police only" zone.
"So," said Jack, to the chief. "I'm guessing she was strangled to death around last night."
The chief replied, "I have no clue who you are, but you are a damn good detective to figure that out."
"Thank you!" Cried Jack. "The complement is nice, but I actually just asked the forensics guy."
Police Chief Dalton sighed. "Well mystery detective guy, go talk to the man who found the body. His name is Jakob Salz. Jogger or somthin'."
"Cool," replied Jack. He strode over to Jakob, who was already being questioned by some cops. "Scuse' me," said Jack. He stood in front of Jakob. Nor Jakob or Jack said a word as the looked eachother up and down. Jack observed that Jakob had been jogging, as he was wearing a blue tracksuit drenched in sweat. He had mud on his knees, looking like he had slipped in something, well, muddy. Jakob was tall. Probably 6 foot 4. 3 inches shorter than Jack.
"Well?" Asked Jakob, breaking the silence. "You gonna question me or not?"
Jack replied, "Yeah. I am. First up, where were you say, uh, Tuesday night?"
"Two days ago, I was uhh, home alone reading, I guess."
"Can anyone confirm that?"
"No, sorry."
Jack chuckled. "You got no alias for when Paul Simmons was murdered."
"Murdered!" Shouted Jakub. "He fell down the stairs!"
"No." Said Jack, a stern look on his face. "He was pushed. Killed by the same someone or something that killed Camilla Red. I have evidence."
Jack put his arm around Jakub, leading him over to Camilla's body. Jack bent down, next to a small scorch mark on the ground. He scraped off the charred earth, and showed the chunk to Jakub.
"What is that?" Muttered Jakub.
"That," replied Jack. "Is a piece of skin. Not Camilla's, but someone elses. It was at Paul's house, too. I'm going to solve this case. And this, this is my Trump Card."
