"Hyung, what is it?" the ravenette asked the elder in an exasperated tone, the silence becoming too much for him to bear.
Dohyun had called Jaemoon to his room earlier to tell him something important, as he puts it. So here he was, sitting on his Lieutenant's bed while the said man kept pacing back and forth, almost wearing a hole in the floor.
Dohyun sighed and finally stopped his pacing to sit on the bed beside the younger. He leaned on his arms by his sides, looking up at the ceiling, taking a deep breath before flitting his eyes to his Captain.
"I like someone," he finally let out, expecting Jaemoon to look shocked.
"Oh, the Chief? I already knew that."
"What?" turns out that it was Dohyun who got shocked. "How? When?"
"Hyung, you made it so obvious," Jaemoon answered, giving the 'shooketh' elder a side look, "I'm sure the whole Unit knows about your little crush on Chief Nadir."
"WHAT?!"
"You think you're subtle, Hyung? You were standing outside her tent the whole morning during the general check-up, even though other medics were free to get your fucking examination done. And what was it that you said? 'I think you are suffering from lack of vitamin 'me'.' I thought you better than that, Hyung."
By now the Lieutenant was beet red, his face rivalling an apple.
"It was worth a shot," Dohyun mumbled, giving his Captain an embarrassed look.
"Ask her out, then."
"I will. After you ask Cairo."
Dohyun had a satisfied smirk on his face after finally seeing Jaemoon looking surprised.
Fuck.
"So you think you are subtle, Jae? I basically raised you. And seeing you with that bunny smile on your face whenever you spotted the medic, I knew something was up. But I don't understand one thing. Why are you avoiding him?"
Fucking fuck.
"Tell me how you feel, Jae," Dohyun said as he leaned forward to sling his arm over Jaemoon's broad shoulders.
Jaemoon let out a long breath. "I feel so complete around him, Hyung. It feels like I've met the other half of myself. His smile, his eyes. Fuck, his eyes, they do things to me. It's something I've never experienced before but now that I have, I want to drown in that feeling."
God made a mistake. A beautiful mistake. Instead of giving one soul its own body, he split the soul into two, giving it two forms. Two forms that met each other, fusing into one, becoming one as they were meant to be, correcting the mistake done by their creator.
"You love him, don't you?"
Jaemoon stilled for a moment before he slowly nodded, his black locks dipping into his phoenix eyes.
"What's stopping you from asking him, then?" he looked at his Captain after a beat, eyebrows knotting at the lack of response.
"I don't know, Hyung. What if- what if he leaves me too? And after what happened during the attack, I just," he paused, gnawing at his bottom lip, the flesh turning a deep red because of the pressure.
"What if he leaves me after I give him my all, Hyung? I don't think I can bear that," Jaemoon was close to tears, arms crossed over his chest, his hands tightly gripping onto his elbows.
Jaemoon was never one to hide his tears, he learnt that early. What does being a 'man' have anything to do with hiding one's true feelings? One should laugh when they want to and cry when they want to. What does gender have anything to do with it? Absolutely nothing is what.
