Levi POV
So it begins. I stood at the bottom of the cement steps that lead up to the doors of my new school. A boarding school. For boys. Boys with criminal records. And I was gay. I sighed. This was insanity at its finest. The boys were rushing around, must be almost time for morning bell. Why would they have me come on a Friday.
"I see you made it." I looked up to the neutral face of the only person I could truly stand being in their presence. Taller than a freaking sky scraper he had large broad shoulder and bushy eyebrows. I was the reason he was even placed here. I frowned at him.
"Yeah." I ground out. He looked me over. I was barely over five feet tall, had black hair floppy on top with an undercut. My eyes were silvery grey like a storm cloud. Which it what bushy eyebrows called me whenever I called him bushy eyebrows.
"Well come on, maybe they will let us room together." He muttered turning to walk up the steps. Erwin Smith, my saint. I thought as, with head down, I followed him. That was until I smashed my head into his back.
"What the..." I began as I peered around Erwin. There was a kid about our age on his knees before three other guys. I could see his face and it was striking. To say he was hot was an understatement. Then I saw those eyes. My mouth fell open. A sea of color flashed with both fury and life. Who was this kid? I thought, just as one of the other guys kicked him. That was when, in a blink of an eye, I took in the total scene. The kid was beaten up and bloody, yet one guy was holding his arms behind him while standing on his legs. This was so he couldn't fight the guy using his face as a punching bag. I moved.
"Levi, no!" Erwin groaned. I launched myself over his shoulder, planting my feet into the guy holding the kid. I caught the kids shoulder. Spinning around I kicked the one punching him. There was one more encouraging him. I smashed my fist in his face. He buckled crying like a baby.
The one doing the punching had stumbled back into Erwin. Now he was held. I thought about hitting him again but the kid beat me to it. He punched him in the face with each hand in quick succession.
"Now leave him alone!" he yelled in the guys face. Who he was I didn't know but the guy that had held him was getting up ready to renew the attack. I kicked him in the ribs again hearing a cracking sound.
"Levi!" Erwin cried. I stopped. Looking up at him without expression. The kid with the amazing eyes called a thank you to me but he was running away. I ran after him. There around the corner was a mini Erwin. Blond coconut shaped hair flopped over a young looking face. He was small. Maybe even smaller than me.
The boy I had saved was helping him to his feet. He dusted him off talking to him the entire time. "Eren, we're not alone." He said. Those eyes looked back at us as he flung his arms out to shield the blond. I watched his shoulders relax but he didn't lower his arms.
"They helped me." He told the blond.
"We're not going to hurt you." Erwin said. "Just wanted to make sure you're ok." The blond's hand moved to hotties face.
"Did you get hurt again?" He asked concerned. Hottie wiped the blood from his nose. A smile like the gates to heaven beamed over his face.
"Nah, I'm fine." He laughed. I gaped at him. Even his laugh was amazing.
"Names Erwin. Erwin Smith." My blond tower marched forward holding his hand out. Hottie took it.
"Eren." He said simply. "This is Armin Alert, the smartest guy in our school." He seemed proud of this. I laughed.
"Until now." I muttered. Those eyes narrowed slightly. I pointed to Erwin. "He's the brains." I said stepping up beside him.
"This rude runt is Levi." Erwin said giving me that behave yourself smirk. Eren only nodded. A loud clanging bell rang out.
"Oh shit, sorry. Gotta go!" He was gone pulling Armin away behind him.
"Tall, dark and those eyes. You like him that's why you decided to get in a fight our first half hour here." It wasn't a question.
"Let's go." I grumbled leading the way back to our bags. To my relief they still sat where we left them, the bullies were gone.
Erwin took us up into the school. He followed the directions to the head masters office. He knocked then stood like a statue waiting. I looked around. It was dark in here. The bottom half of the wall was dark mahogany, the top a painted beige. Pictures of past headmaster lined the walls. I sighed as the door opened.
"Mr. Smith and Mr. Ackerman, I presume?" the woman said as she ushered us inside. We didn't get to sit before the headmaster called us into his office. We had to sit through the lecture of how bad we were, why we were here and what was expected of us. We were going to leave here better men than when we arrived. Yeah alright. Finally the long-winded bat was done and we were escorted out.
Two boys sat in the chairs waiting for the headmaster. Eren was one. The other was someone who looked like his mother had sex with a horse. "Eren were you and Jean fighting, again?" the man beside us asked.
"It was just a disagreement." Eren mumbled.
"Fine. Your punishment is to show Mr. Smith and Mr. Ackerman to their rooms." He thrust some papers into Eren's hand. "Make sure you get some ice for that eye." He added. Eren only nodded.
"We meet again." He flashed a smile at us. Erwin returned it.
"So it appears." He said.
"Since you know them, you do this. I'm out." Horse face walked away.
"That's Jean, he's an idiot." Eren said. Armin was outside the door. Eren took his hand placing it on his elbow.
"Hey sorry you had to wait so long." He told the boy.
"It wasn't that long." Armin smiled at the wall.
"Uh is he..." Erwin stopped. "Armin are you blind?" He asked. Armin looked shocked.
"Is that the problem. I thought someone shut the lights off!" He cried. Eren laughed with him. Erwin smirked.
"Sorry, I guess I don't know any blind people."
"I wasn't born blind. It was an accident." He said. His free hand touching Eren face.
"Stop it." He said before slapping his cheek, hard. Eren just smiled lovingly at the kid. Fuck my life! The most perfect guy in the world, possibly gay like me, already had a boyfriend. One I couldn't fight him for.
"Come on, we have to show them around. It looks like Levi here is going to be your new roommate." And the hits just keep on coming. Armin was going to be my roommate.
"Whose yours?" I blurted out. This was why I didn't talk to people. Eren snickered.
"Jean." He pointed down the hall in the direction of the other kid.
"Well, until tomorrow." My hopes soared, maybe.
"Yeah. We fight too much. So Connie is sacrificing himself to room with me. Jean will be going to Marco's room. Maybe I can actually sleep." With that Eren yawned. I glared.
He talked about the school. Pointing out things like the gym, or teachers offices, the cafeteria, things like that as we walked toward the dorms I hung back slightly. Erwin was doing well keeping up the conversation. My mind began to wander.
"Yeager, it looks like you have an admirer." Someone yelled a second before an arm flopped onto my shoulders.
"LEVI NO!!!" Erwin yelled he was turning reaching out toward me. My elbow hit the kids ribs before he could stop me.
"Damn, that hurt." The bald kid looked up at me from his bent position.
"Levi doesn't liked to be touched." Erwin glared at me as he checked the kid over.
"He was starring at Yeager's ass!" the guy said. Eren's cheeks colored as Armin laughed.
"Shut the hell up, Connie." Eren stated mildly. Connie huffed before muttering something and walking away.
"Eren?" Armin called out. His hand was held up. The tall dark haired boy rushed back to his side having walked about half of the distance to Connie.
"Sorry." He muttered. Armin had a sweet innocent smile.
"Hey, no problem, but I smell something." He said. Eren glanced around.
"Like what?" He asked. Armin shrugged and began to walk away.
"I'm not sure. But it went away. Are we close to the road?" He asked. Eren frowned.
"No but near Pixus' place." They both nodded like this was something to be expected. Had I really been starring at his ass? I mean I did notice it? I trudged on making sure to keep my eyes on the grass beneath my feet. When the grass turned to cement I looked up. Eren was leading us up to a dorm style building. He was explaining to Erwin how the larger guy was going to have his own room.
"What?" I blinked. "Why does he get his own room?" I glared at the kid.
"Probably because the headmaster thinks he is big enough to deal with the room." Armin stated with a shiver. Eren chuckled.
"It's not really haunted." He smirked at his blind boyfriend. I frowned.
"Haunted?" Erwin looked skeptical. When he saw me looking he winked. I snorted. "Uh, I don't think..." He began.
"I'll take it." I demanded. "Erwin's a chicken when it comes to ghosts." Armin's shoulders settled down. I hadn't noticed he was hunching them.
"Then you will be my roommate?" Armin said. I saw Erwin smile. For some reason he had a soft spot for people in need. Look at me, he was my best, if only, friend.
"Sure." Eren lead us up the back steps around a few corners to a door shoved in the back of this hall. It was the last door and tucked in a corner. You could easily miss it.
"Honestly I don't think Erwin could even stand up straight in here." He muttered using the key the principle gave him to unlock the door. It creaked open as a cold gust of air came washing out engulfing us all. The celling was slanted and low. Erwin stepped inside. Sure enough he had to bend his head. I chuckled. He grinned at me. Something he always did if I showed amusement. I stepped inside, perfectly fine.
"Alright, this is Levi's room. I will let housing know." Eren stated. "Why don't you come with us so I can show you where our rooms are. In case you need anything." He offered as he held out the key. I nodded. Leaving my bags in my room, I followed them.
It turned out that Armin's room was across from Eren's at the other end of the short hall. There were only these three rooms in this hall. "It had something to do with the remodeling like twenty years ago. This is the only floor like this." Eren explained. Connie and Jean came around the corner each pulling carts.
"I thought the move was tomorrow?" Eren said.
"Like I can stand you for that long." Jean shoved past into the room on the right. Eren just snorted.
"Welcome to the Scout Regiment." He told us before letting us all into Armin's room.
