Biology was the last class Bella had for the day, and as Mike – one of the boys who had ran off during lunch escorted her into the wide open door with a smile, Olenna waved goodbye to her sister and their new friend and kept walking down the hall.
The younger twin wandered the school corridors – bumping into less and less people as she kept glancing down at her timetable with squinted eyes and then moving them along to the map in her other hand, confused.
She had no idea where she was going, and with a defeated sigh, Olenna looked up from the pieces of paper to find her at a dead end and no one to be seen in the hallway behind her. Frustration built up in her chest, her fingers whitening on the laminated paper as she tried to let herself think on what to do next.
Should have asked for directions when I could have, she thought irritably, rolling her eyes and turning away from the bricked wall and heading back the way she came. She glared at the poster covered walls, muttering under her breath about how stupidly confusing schools are on the first day.
"Stupid, confusing, unnecessary dead ends, why do they even have those anyways? It's highly unr-" Olenna slammed into something hard as she rounded the corner and the 17-year-old groaned out instinctively, dropping the items in her hand.
"Why the fuck do they have a pole here?" she asked herself once her vision cleared and saw the circular beam standing tall and proud, as if entertained the idea of almost knocking the woman on her ass.
"You know what? I ain't gonna question it at all," she grumbled, huffing out and shoving one hand in her jacket pocket as the other came up to rub her forehead that was now throbbing slightly from the personal attack.
Reaching down, she pursed her lips at the sight of her classroom number next to her period in class and rolled her eyes..
If she couldn't find the class, may as well take her time – there's no point stressing over it when she'll find it eventually. Hopefully.
Passing several numbered doors that weren't her own, Olenna was losing hope she'd ever find the class on her first day. I wonder if anyone would even notice that I a-
Her thought process was cut short when she spotted a honey-blonde male standing in front of her. Her eyebrows creased, tilting her head to the side as she swore to herself no one was around seconds ago.
Must have missed him, she thought bitterly, rolling her eyes. So much for not being so zoned in on finding the class. How small is my observational skills?
"I'm sorry," she muttered, scratching the back of her neck uncomfortably, peering up at the boy she was told about just only minutes ago. She squinted, holding onto her map - unsure if she was seeing things – from where she was at lunch the lighting of the room caught gold eyes.
They were no longer gold, but instead a dark shade of bronze, almost black. Not only that, they seemed eerie – dangerous. The hair on her arms stood up, Olenna looking away immediately at the sense of danger.
She knew that she would have to take it cautiously, not enthusiastic to put herself in a difficult position despite it only being another high-schooler just like she was.
Shaking her head, Olenna pushed it aside and deemed it unnecessary to prod on it for too long. Deciding it would cause too just much stress for something simple.
She just mistook the colour of his eyes earlier, that's all.
"Do you know where this class is?" she questioned, shrugging her shoulders whilst showing the mysterious boy the timetable in her hand. "I can't find it anywhere." May as well ask for help whilst it's there.
Silence was met with her question, Jasper's gaze unmoving and dark as he stared at her, and irritation spiked up her spine before she bit down on her tongue. With a frustrated sigh, Olenna's shoulders dropped.
"Okay, then."
When he still didn't respond, the blonde took it in her own hands to walk past him, ducking past his shoulder and readjusting the bag that lay lazily on her right shoulder. It didn't bother her that he didn't give her guidance, it was the lack of a response in general whilst staring at her like she was a strange person for even being there.
A cold grasp wrapped around her wrist on the bag, pulling her to a stop. Olenna let out a small gasp, surprised and turning to face him with scrunched eyebrows. "Um..?"
Jasper's blonde locks dropped a little, framing his face as he tilted his chin down to look at her, Olenna's eyes widening as she looked into his eyes and found that the dark gaze had gone and back was the honey-gold ones she witnessed at lunch.
I'm going fucking crazy, she thought, her arm still caught in his grasp before he looked at the point where his hand was on her limb and let go as if it burnt him. "Sorry, Darlin'. History was your class, wasn't it? It's the other way."
So he was listening. Olenna eyed the male up and down, uncertain by her sudden switch in behaviour. I need to get to class, he's willing to help. Win some, you lose some.
"Alright, then."
The two didn't say anything else as Jasper led her to the right classroom, Olenna cursing at the door she had walked by at least twice before. The blonde male opened the door, looking at her and then the entrance.
The youngest twin walked past him, the smell of something sweet yet sour filled her senses as she entered the room – going straight for the teacher.
"Hello, there. You must be Olenna Swan, am I right?" He asked, pushing his glasses up his nose and hitting a stack of paper on the desk a few times. "I'm Mr. Reverend. Pleasure to meet you, and here is a textbook you'll be needing for the year."
"Thank you, it's nice to meet you as well," Olenna replied, looking over the class as she grabbed the thickly written history book. There was a few seats here and there that weren't filled up, but she didn't particularly want to go anywhere just yet.
Green eyes narrowed slightly as she spotted Jasper sitting next to his girlfriend, Alice – the pixie girl already looking at her with a beaming smile and the honey-blonde male wasn't even looking in her direction.
Such an opposite personality.
"And you'll be sitting next to Natalie Parr, she's the one at the back on the right."
Olenna scanned the room briefly, spotting a dark-haired brunette who had her head down but at the mention of her name had raised her arm almost groggily. The youngest Swan swallowed down her nerves and strolled as confidently as she could towards the middle of the room where the supposed 'Natalie' was seated.
Placing down her bag on the side, and the textbook on the corner of the desk, Olenna breathed out a sigh of relief she was placed next to a girl. "Olenna Swan, as you probably know," she introduced herself, giving the brunette a small wave, which she eyed for a second before doing it back in return.
"Natalie Parr, as you know."
With that, the brunette sunk her head back down on the table and lazily looked toward the whiteboard where the teacher was now scribbling something on it.
Olenna made herself comfortable, slouching down in the chair as she waited for the class to end before it even really started.
