I think I got someone else to write the last bit lmfao,,,,,,,,,,, I don't write emotional shit lol)

Cukoopaw burst into WoodClan camp, tears streaming down his fur. He was much faster and energized. ''Where is Swiftpaw?!'' He screamed at Commorantwhisker, who pointed his tail at the medicine den. Cukoopaw rushed inside to see Swiftpaw, looking a tad deflated.

''I gave him painkillers- that's all I can do, I'm afraid. Broken ribs and.. and..'' Crowcall quietly whispered to Cukoopaw. Swiftpaw, weakly curled up in a nest, grinned at his friend.

''Swiftpaw, I--'' Cukoopaw stammered, feeling so guilty and at fault. His heart dropped to the bottom of his chest, the young tom holding back tears.

''I did exactly what you said, Cukoopaw, and I think it worked! We're not gonna have any more problems with Eveningstar!'' He coughed loudly. ''I'm sure of it!''

''Shh, I know, you did it properly, Swiftpaw. We're all safe now!'' Cukoopaw grinned, placing a paw on his friend's shoulder.

''I-'' Swiftpaw began, coughing again. ''I saw my ma- she was watching me!''

''Save your strength. You don't want to have to stay here and be unable to go to the gathering this moon, right? How about we play a game later?'' The black tabby comforted his friend quietly, blinking away the tears that were bordering his eyes. Loud wailing broke the calm aura in the den, Leechstorm tumbling inside and facing Crowcall.

''Where is he?!'' Her teary eyes flicked between the apprentice by her apprentice's side and to the medicine cat who was biting her lower lip, feeling bad that yet another soul would be lost.

''Ma? Oh man, I'm so sorry for ignoring what you told me..'' Swiftpaw groaned, a small grin on his face. Leechstorm rushed to his side, looking him over as he laid in the nest.

''Swiftpaw, my dear..'' She quietly meowed, nuzzling the tom's cheek.

''We're gonna explore the territory again soon, right..'' He meowed, his memory seeming to fade along with his slower breathing.

''I showed you the territory yesterday, hun.'' Leechstorm added quietly.

''I'm gonna chase all the birds..'' Swiftpaw's voice was just louder than a whisper, and Leechstorm laid her head on his shoulder.

''You caught one, remember?'' Leechstorm softly spoke.

''I'm gonna--'' He coughed again, his tongue red with blood that no longer flowed from the corners of his lips. His heartbeat was still there. Leechstorm didn't want him to go. She'd lost too many cats, she couldn't lose her apprentice.

''Shh, I remember, I remember.'' She meowed. His breathing got slower with each passing second and it seemed that everyone had left the den to leave her alone for her last moments with her apprentice. She wanted to calm him. She remembered an old nursery rhyme Rookstar would use to calm her down whenever she was rowdy or crying. If she mentioned it to him, maybe he would live his last moments listening to something familiar. ''The vul-ture flies above the bone..'' She began, holding back tears.

''Th-rough the skies and down he goes!'' Swiftpaw cheerfully croaked, settling his head on the moss bed. He wasn't in pain. Leechstorm was thankful for that.

''Good. Sir, where are you fly-ing from?'' The deputy choked, tears falling from her eyes as the tom's heartbeat became lighter.

''Flying from the.. From..'' Swiftpaw trailed off. He no longer took any breaths, and his heart could no-longer be heard.

''Goodbye, mister vulture. '' Leechstorm sobbed quietly, parting her jaws to speak again. ''Off he flies.''
