"that keycard opens the door, but unfortunately, the russian with this keycard also has a massive gun," y/n told steve, robin and dustin as steve twirled his hat around his finger. "whatever's in this room, whatever's in those boxes, they really don't want anybody finding it."

"but there's gotta be a way in," robin shook her head.

steve blows into his hat, "well, you know... i could just take him out."

"take who out?" robin raised her brows.

"the russian guard."

robin nods unconvinced.

"what? i sneak up behind him, i knock him out, and i take his keycard. it's easy," steve shrugged.

"did you not hear the part about the massive gun?" dustin asked.

"yes, dustin, i did," he nodded. "and that's why i would be sneaking."

"ah. well, please, tell me this, and be honest, have you ever actually... won a fight?" y/n questioned him.

"okay, that was one time-"

"twice. jonathan. year prior?" dustin cuts him off.

"listen, that doesn't count."

"why wouldn't it count? because it looks like he beat the shit out of you."

they began to bicker about his and jonathan's fight, dustin mentioning steve's injuries while steve tried to defend himself, as y/n saw robin looking at the vent.

"that might just work," robin mumbled to herself before running out of the room catching steve and dustin's attention.

"robin," steve called out when robin grabbed a bunch of cash from the tip jar. "hey, robin! hey, what... what are you doing?"

"i need cash," she told them.

"well, half of that's mine," steve whined. "where're you going?"

"to find a way into that room, a safe way. and, in the meantime, sling ice cream, behave, and don't get beat up. i'll be back in a jiff," with that she ran away to god knows where.

steve glanced to the side to see dustin licking ice cream from steve's scooper.

"oh, dude," he groaned, snatching the ice cream scooper from him. "come on, man, not my scooper."

"it is fascinating what 20 bucks will get you at the county recorder's office," robin lays the blueprints of the mall on the table. "starcourt mall. the complete blueprints."

"not bad," dustin smiled.

"so, this is us, scoops," robin pointed. "and this is where we want to get."

"i mean, i don't really see a way in," steve shook his head.

"there's not, if you're talking exclusively about doors," she said.

"air ducts," y/n realized.

"exactly," robin grabbed a marker. "turns out, this secret room needs air just like any old room. and these air ducts," she circles a spot on the blueprint. "lead all the way... here."

they looked up at the vent. steve goes over and takes the cover off, "flashlight."

dustin takes the cover from him and gave him the flashlight.

"thank you."

he turns on the flashlight and looked into the vent, "yeah, i don't know, man. i don't know if you can fit in here. it's, like... super tight."
