darling
'i can't see anybody loving me the way you do, it's astonishing. you've got me under wraps. darling, i'm in love'
Over the next week, Lyra began to consider the idea of dropping out.
It had only been one week of classes and she was already slumped with homework. Currently, it was Thursday morning and she was making her way to Defence Against the Dark Arts. It was the first Defence double lesson of the year, which made all the Hufflepuff and Gryffindor students excited. According to the third years who had a double of the subject the previous day, they would be facing boggarts.
Lyra was drastically less enthusiastic for the lesson than others, considering she'd already had an encounter with the creature, but she made sure to plaster on a big grin for Remus when she entered the classroom.
"Morning Remus!" She sang happily. He looked up from where he was sitting on the floor, skimming through a book. "Excited to have your favourite child for a beautiful Wednesday morning?"
Remus shook his head at her cheerful attitude. "Not really, no..." He ran a hand through his thinning hair and stood up, placing the book back in its home on the shelf. "Why are you here so early? Class doesn't start for another fifteen minutes. And where are the twins?"
Lyra let out a loud laugh as she sat atop one of the desks. "I'm here because I had nothing else to do. As for the twins, you and I both know where they are. It's not a coincidence that Filch has been circling the Transfiguration wing for the past hour."
"Ah, I should have known." He looked at her for a second. "Are you wearing makeup?"
"Yep," She popped the 'p'. "I'm nearly sixteen, I don't see why I can't."
Remus let out a loud sigh. "Alright, I suppose."
"Glad to know I have your approval, Moony," she leant up and pressed a kiss to his cheek. "I'm going to go round up the twins because if I don't, they'll never turn up." She gave the tired man a wave. "Seeya in ten!"
Lyra rushed through the castle to the Transfiguration Wing. By the time she found Fred and George, her lungs were begging for a break.
While Fred made fun of her terrible cardio, George offered her a piggy-back, which she definitely accepted. They made it back to the Defence classroom a lot slower than Lyra would have liked.
George let her slide off before opening the door, where they found an annoyed Remus. "Late? On the first day?"
"Sorry, Professor," Fred said. "It's just we ran into Filch who was having a hard time trying to find Mrs Norris and we had to help him out."
"It's true, sir," George nodded. "In the end, we still couldn't find her. Filch is heartbroken."
Remus looked at Lyra and quirked a brow, to which she shrugged and pulled the boys into their seats.
