Those two little lines.

These two lines would change everything Tooru Oikawa has ever known.

All of his volleyball dreams.

His teammates.

His family and friends.

Nothing would be the same, not anymore.

Oikawa stared at those two little lines on the pregnancy test with his hand clamped over his mouth. The tears streamed down his face as he cried silently. He had just moved out of his home to start college a few weeks ago and had already unpacked everything in his tiny apartment. He moved pretty far away from his hometown to begin a new life.

After being defeated by Karasuno during his last high school tournament. He decided that he would move far away, he stayed within Japan but was in a different prefecture. He had fallen depressed and started partying more often before he graduated. He kept his grades up though, he didn't want his parents blaming his coping methods for bad grades.

One night, in particular, he had traveled all the way to Sendai. That night was the drunkest the brunette had ever gotten. He doesn't remember that night at all, the only thing he remembers was waking up extremely early in the morning next to the one and only Wakatoshi Ushijima. He remembers having to go to his graduation that very same morning, and he looked terrible. He was in pain, but he kept his smile plastered on his face the whole day.

Oikawa wasn't surprised at the outcome of that night, Ushijima was extremely drunk too, he also let his defeat from Karasuno get the best of him. Oikawa had been feeling extremely sick for the past few weeks and decided to go buy a pregnancy test. He really hoped and prayed that it was just the extended flu, but life has other plans for him.

He decided to go to the doctors the next day to confirm the pregnancy and so he could start planning what he needed to do. If he truly was pregnant, abortion was not an option for the brunette, he refused to get rid of life just because he wasn't ready, he was fine with others that got abortions since it was their choice, and its none of his business in the matter.

Since it was the weekend, Oikawa didn't have any classes so he got an appointment at 7 in the morning. He felt a little proud of the fact that he was able to score one that early since he had a part-time job at this pizza delivery place. He had to be at work by 9, so he figured that would be plenty of time to confirm his pregnancy or if it was something else.

Oikawa decided that moping around all day wasn't going to do him any good, so he decided to work on the little homework that he had, he had gone into Psychology to be a school counselor so he can help teens like him. He had also wanted to try out for their volleyball team, but now that dream was basically thrown out of the window.

After all of his homework was done, he decided to clean his apartment up a little bit and finish decorating his room. His alien obsession had never really gone away and set up all of his tapestries and posters all around. He also had some green Christmas lights that he hung around. Proud of his work, he decided to warm up some ramen he had bought at the store earlier and turned on his favorite anime, which just happened to be Black Butler at the moment. He especially loved the character Grell and just laughed whenever he came on.

For a moment, Oikawa let himself relax. He let all the stress of a possible pregnancy, college, volleyball, and his drinking issues fade away. He decided that he would go check out some tips for schedule/time management and how to have himself quit drinking as well. If he was going to have a child of his own, especially with little to no help, he was going to have to get his life together fairly quickly.

He figured he would buy baby stuff in little batches at a time so that he wouldn't run his bank account dry right away. He also looked into signing up for a WIC account so that he could get free baby formula and some healthy foods for free. (this is a thing in America, I have no idea if it's a thing in Japan or not, but let's not worry about that kay?)

He began looking at prices for the essential things he would need, (cribs, diapers, bottles, wipes, etc.) His eyes widened at how much this stuff was, so he decided to let it go for the moment and closed his laptop, and grabbed his keys for his car. He also grabbed all of the beer and alcohol in his fridge so he could dump it out/throw it away. Even though it wasn't confirmed yet, Oikawa had been thinking of quitting partying for a while now, he wasn't this depressed teenager anymore. He was a (somewhat) mature adult that knew it was a problem.

Once he had found a remote place to dump all the alcohol, he decided to go window shopping. Eventually, he found himself lingering in front of a children's store, even though most people would be terrified of the fact of raising a child on their own, Oikawa saw it as his wake-up call. It was time for him to quit acting like a spoiled brat that always got his way, to have to make sacrifices for the (not confirmed) life inside of him.

He told himself to not go inside a children's store until it was confirmed he would even be having a baby and decided to drive back to his cramped apartment. Laying down in bed with his phone in his hand. His finger lingered over the call button on Iwaizumi's contact, but he turned his phone off and decided against calling him. Tears streaming down his face, he fell asleep not too long after and he fell into a restless and dreamless slumber.

A/N

None of the art or characters is mine!

Honestly, Idk how I feel about this chapter, I think it's okay?

I will not be uploading daily, it'll probably be like once every 1 1/2 weeks or so since I have a lot of other ongoing stories going on as well. I can't focus on one story at a time and having multiple keeps me motivated to write and make other people happy.

There will be no POVs either, it's all third person and I'll put dividers between "scenes" so it's not too confusing.

I also keep my chapters at about 1000 words, (not including my A/Ns) so I understand if that's too short, but that is just how I like to write.

If you are bored while waiting for another chapter to come out, I do have some other Haikyuu fanfics on my page and some reading lists if you are interested in that kind of thing!

If there are grammar mistakes or anything, I'm probably not going to fix them since I have Grammarly checking my stuff for me, unless it hugely affects the plot then these chapters will stay the same unless I choose to rewrite the whole thing.

Have a great day/afternoon/night and stay safe everyone!
