3. Bun in the Oven

Oikawa was led down to a maternity room by a different nurse this time. Oikawa sighed in relief after his mother announced she had something important to do and he didn't have to hang up on her this time. The nurse sat him down on the table and asked him to lay back. He complied and did as he was told. 

"Ok, so we're going to do a blood test to confirm if you are or aren't expecting, it won't take very long, and then if it comes back positive we'll take a look at a ultrasound (I think that's what it is)."

Oikawa nodded nervously, "You'll be alright sir, it's basically like donating blood, except we're only taking a small amount and it won't hurt as much as donating is." 

He nodded again, just doing his best to calm himself down, he never really enjoyed needles or anything. It was at times like this where pregnancy was going to be hard, he didn't have anyone to share these memories with or someone to calm him down when he got nervous. 

She was finishing up with the blood sample when Oikawa had finally calmed down, he took a deep breath and closed his eyes. "This your first one?" The nurse asked calmly.

"Was I that obvious?" Oikawa chuckled. 

"A little." She smiled at him a little. "I definitely remember my first, I was alone at the time and was definitely scared, but in the end, it's totally worth it, once your eyes meet theirs after giving birth, all the worries just seem to float away." 

This reassured Oikawa quite a bit, "I have to go send the sample to the lab, but I will be right back, everything will turn out."

After a few minutes of waiting by himself, the nurse was already back in the room. "Okay, so the results came back, and the blood test came back positive." 

Oikawa nodded slowly, even though he had taken a test back at his apartment, these results still kind of hit him like a truck. 

"I'm going to ask you to lean back again, and I'll adjust the chair so you can lay down and we can take a quick peek at the little one in there." Oikawa again did what he was told. 

"Can you please lift your shirt to just below your chest." 

After he did that she put a cold gel on his lower stomach, Oikawa shivered and the nurse chuckled a little. "I know it's cold, you'll get used to it as time goes on." He nodded as she put the sensor on his stomach and moved it around a little bit.

"Oh, there they are!" She turned the screen and let it face Oikawa. He immediately teared up, sure it was extremely small, but it was visible. "I'll print this off for you and then we'll arrange another appointment for your two month checkup."

Oikawa nodded as she wiped off his stomach. "I'll be right back with the ultrasound." She smiled at him nicely and walked out of the door. Oikawa glanced at the time, 8:30, he was happy that it was only about a 5 minute drive to work. 

He decided to just change into his work outfit, he already had the jeans on so he just put the shirt on and then put his hoodie back on. He took a shakey breath as the truth finally settled in, he was going to have a child of his own, granted he wasn't very happy that it was with Wakatoshi Ushijima, but he doesn't have to know. 

Right?

The nurse came back in the room with an envelope, "Here you go, now we'd prefer your next appointment on....."

They planned for the 2nd month check up, and Oikawa had to really rush to get to work on time.

He pulled up into the parking lot right on time and ran into the kitchen. His boss stared at him and raised an eybrow. "Are you okay newbie?"

In his mind Oikawa thought, 'oh yeah I'm just fine, totally not pregnant with my rivals kid all by myself a few hours away from anyone I truly know, but yeah I'm good!'

He nodded his head, feeling the tears ready to slip, his boss sighed "In my office please." and she walked away towards her office. Oikawa reluctantly followed her, knowing she's really good at reading people, she instantly knew something was up.

He opened her door and she motioned for him to sit down. "Sit, I can tell that something is way off, you're usually early to work, you almost always have a happy expression while working, and you usually have a pep in your step." "So what's bothering you?"

His eyes widened as seeing how extremely observant she was. 

He sighed in defeat, "I'm sorry, something very unexpected happened and it's been throwing my game off a bit." 

"You don't have to talk about it today, I'll be expecting an explanation soon, take the day off, it clearly looks like you need it." "Don't worry, I won't take a vacation day away from you but I'll still pay you for today." 

"T-thank you." He bowed a little and walked out towards his car. His coworkers tried talking to him but got interrupted by their boss. "Leave him be for now, he just needs to rest a little."

Oikawa decided to go back to his apartment to try and eat something, he didn't realize how hungry he actually was. He made it home shortly after and made a couple pieces of toast and sat down in front of his TV. 

After eating the couple pieces, he didn't dare leave his spot and actually fell asleep not too long after. 

A couple hours went by when he heard someone knock on his door. 

"Tooru Oikawa!" His mother's voice clearly angry. "I know your home, your car is outside!"

He jolted up from his half asleep state and reluctantly walked over to his door and opened it.

I like writing cliffhangers for some odd reason :D
