Everything Damian cherished, everything that brought him happiness and comfort was being sucked into a black hole. He knew he held some darkness in him when he was just a child, following his late-grandfather's beliefs. But he left that path long ago when he came to live with his father, when he became the new Robin.
Lies. If he had changed then Damian wouldn't find himself in this position. Finding himself surrounded by all of those he considered his family and friends. The Titans. They had asked Damian to meet them at an abandon warehouse outside the outskirts of Jump City. When Damian arrived dressed in his Robin uniform, he was ambushed by the people he believed were his friends. His need to survive kicked in, in a confuse state Damian fought back and once he found an opening he ran to the closet exit. Starfire shot a star bolt towards a pile of crates making them crumble and block off Damian's escape route. Damian sheathed his sword and turned to face his teammates. He scowled at them all, but deep within he could feel his chest ache, his breathing becoming shallow, and his eyes burned wanting to shed tears. Damian didn't want them to see him tremble, he wouldn't break in front of them.
Part of him should had foreseen this. Damian should had known this was all a trap. He had been away and when he returned, he found being wanted by the authorities. His dream, that damn dream he had months ago was a vision to what was now happening to him. If he had shared his fears then this could all been prevented, and they would have been safe from harm. Damian clenched his eyes shut fighting off the tears he so desperately wanted to shed.
"We didn't want it to come to this, but you left us no choice, Damian." No. This couldn't really be happening. It had to be a dream, please it has to be. Damian prayed within the confides of his mind. He looked up to find Nightwing standing tall on a mountain of wooden crates with the rest of the titans. They all glared menacing at Damian. "Bruce is in the I.C.U and Raven... Raven is in a coma because of you!"
It was hard to contain his tears, especially when Raven was mentioned. Raven. His Raven. He had heard the news and when Damian went to visit her, he found her connected to tubes and machines. Damian had cried on her bedside, grabbed her hand and begged her to open her eyes.
You did this. That voice again. She is like this because of you. You promised to love and care for her yet look where she ended up because of you. Then Damian's mind was filled with memories he never had. He stood before a frightened Raven and began beating her senseless, till drawing blood. Damian clenched his head as more and more bloody images replayed in his mind. That couldn't be him, he told himself. He had been away! He wasn't in Jump City when all of these events had transpired. Frightened with himself, he ran away. But here he was facing his teammates.
"Damian." Starfire called out his name gently. "Tell us what truly happen, why did you attack those innocent people. Why do it?"
Damian grew tired of him being accused of accusations he hadn't commit. "That wasn't me!" He shouted.
"Dude!" Gar shouted back, "don't try to lie we saw you on the surveillance footages." Gar was fighting back a growl. "We saw Robin murdering countless people."
"No please you have to believe me! That wasn't me! I would never hurt anyone!" Damian turned his head towards his half-brother, the one person who might still be his only ally between this madness. "Nightwing?!"
His half-brother looked down, "I was a fool to think Bruce could actually change you. That you would be different because you had found true love with Raven, but that can't be can it Damian? Before being Robin, before being a Wayne. You'll always be an Al Ghul. The Demon Head's grandson little weapon of destruction."
You see? They are turning against you brother. That damn voice in his head again. Did I not warn you that those you called your allies, your 'friends' would become your enemies? It's time brother time to show them what we are truly made of.
"Shut up!" Damian shouted as he grips his head in between his hands. He looked up to see his teammates looking down at him. None of them showed signs like they were going to back down, they all looked ready to fight him again. Ready to take him into custody and pay for crimes he didn't commit.
Damian could feel something consume his entire being. Despair. His heart throbbed painfully within him. The tears he been trying to contain finally started streaming down. His teammates, The Titans, didn't trust him. He was no longer one of them but another villain they would overcome. Was this really his destiny, was he fated to never have an ounce of happiness in his life? Damian had long departed from the path his late grandfather had in store for him. He had tried so hard and the few people Damian actually cared for were now hurt because of him. Everyone would be better off if he was gone from this world. He wouldn't be able to bring anyone any harm.
Damian let out a deep breath, slowly unsheathe his katana and face it against his fellow titans. If he fought back, hopefully one of them would deliver the final blow. Damian closed his eyes, silently sending a message to Raven, telling her how much he cherished the last few months he had spent with her. The moments in which they grew closer and dreamt together of the future they wished to see.
Nightwing unhooked the two batons on his back and placed them defensively in front of his chest, he glared at Damian. "Titans! Bring him down!"
