*10 months before*
This is it; I am going to do this. Damian kept repeating to himself. He stood outside of Raven's room, ready to knock on her door. He brought his hand up and stopped just a few inches away. It was no lie he had cold feet, why was he so scared? It shouldn't be this hard, he had knocked on her door countless times before. Though this time around he was going to confess his feelings for her.
Damian groined annoyed with himself, he turned around and slumped against the opposite wall facing her door. He had vowed to himself he would confess to her before it was too late. He made that promise after Rave had come to console him a month after Terra's funeral. Damian reached up his face, ran his hand over his right cheek, remembering Raven's soft lips as she had given him a small peck. That moment had happened four years ago, now that he was eighteen, he didn't want to waste another moment to confess. Damian realized the longer he waited the most likely another guy falling for her.
Raven had grown beautifully into a young lady. She kept her hair short, just above her shoulders. Her skin was still that slivery pearl that shined under the sun rays, and her eyes those beautiful amethyst eyes that seem to stop time whenever he locked eyes with her. Damian had fallen madly in love with her, he never suspected to feel this way about anyone, but he was grateful he had found it with her. Damian was so lost in his thoughts he hadn't noticed he wasn't alone in the hallway.
"Yo Dami, what are you doing here?"
Damian lifted his head to see Jon Kent or Superboyas the public knew him, was walking towards him. Damian straightened himself up, his confession would have to wait, he didn't want everyone in the team to know his business or worse go gossiping the news to Grayson.
"Nothing, I was just leaving." Damian said so sternly.
"Leaving? Nah, something tells me you had something to do. Your heart is beating more than usual."
Damn, kyrptonians. Damian cursed within himself, figured Jon would use his powers to figure Damian out. The young Wayne started taking deep breaths to help steady his heartbeat, he didn't need Jon finding out his real purpose. Though it would seem it was too late, his damn face was starting to feel very flushed.
Damian swallowed the lump in his throat, "Leave me... be Kent." He was choking on his own words! Damian covered his face with his hot sweaty palm, to recollect himself.
Jon stayed silent for a few minutes till something finally clicked in his mind. "Get out. You?" He started laughing wholehearted. "Seriously dude?! I would had never suspected you have feelings for our dear Rae-"
Faster than Flash himself, Damian slammed Jon up against the wall. "Shut up!" He growled. "I swear if you tell anyone before I get a chance to tell Raven myself, I will stab you with kryptonite and beat you till you're unrecognizable."
"Okay, okay I give. I won't say anything but leave my face out of this I am a public icon! Girls dig me!" Jon cried out as he lifted his hands in surrender.
"What are you boys up to now?"
The two titans turned their heads to see Raven Roth standing in the middle of the hallway with a handful of shopping bags. She had a brow lifted questioning why two of her teammates were fighting this early in the day.
"Raven!" Damian let go Jon abruptly and then cleared his throat realizing he called her name rather loudly. "I thought you were in your room."
The young mage set her bags down, "I left early this morning to go shopping with Donna. Just got back. So, what's up with you two?" Raven crossed her arms over her chest.
Damian couldn't answer her. He was trying form words, but none came and all he could was stare at her like a dumbfounded fool. Jon straightened his shirt and tapped Damian on the should, "well you know us guys Raven. We fool around allot."
"Yeah you fool around, but it's mostly with Gar and Jaime. Damian? This would be a first." Raven lightly chuckled. Damian couldn't help but blush at her statement, she knew him too well.
Not knowing what else to say, Jon lifted his hands in surrender. "I'm out. See ya guys."
Both Damian and Raven watched Jon go down the hallway and turning at a corner. It became quickly silent and very much awkward to Damian's dismay. Raven lifted her bags with her magic as she approached her bedroom's door. The door slid open and she levitated her bags into the bedroom, carefully placing them on the floor. Without even looking at him she finally broke the silence. "So, are you going to tell me why you been in front of my door for the past hour?"
At that comment, Damian lifted his brow he was about to ask when Raven then added, "Jaime mentioned he saw you in front of my door before he came down for breakfast. Had to see for myself."
Damian had thought he been discreet. He was an elite assassin and Robin, so how come he didn't make sure no one had seen him? "I have something to tell you... in private." That last part was just barely above a whisper, but Damian knew she heard him well.
Raven gestured him to enter her room. He had been in her bedroom before, whenever they were partnered for a task together, he stayed up with her going over crime reports. Other times they were just hanging out and reading over Raven's favorite novels. Raven went and sat at the foot of her bed and motioned him to sit down next to her.
Taking careful strides, Damian slowly sat down, looking down at the carpet floor. Damian held his hands together over his lap. He should say something now that they were alone but everything Damian had planned was forgotten; his rehearsed confession speech was no were to be found in the depths of his mind. Raven deserved better, she didn't need him wasting her time like this. "This is hard to say." He finally whispered.
"Damian." He turned his head and Raven held his face between her very soft hands. She locked her amethyst eyes with his emeralds. She could tell something was troubling him. She knew him too well. "Open yourself, open your mind to me and let me see the inner you." She said softly with a smile.
And Damian did. He let the walls grumble down and allowed himself to be venerable only to her. Damian flooded his mind with past memories, of the moments he cherished most. All which included her in them. He showed Raven when they first met and how he realized she was someone he could trust after she first healed him. Someone who along with the Titans had become a family to him, and how he reached his hand out promising in return that she deserved a home as well.
More images of them resurfaced in his mind, Damian saved his most cherished memory last. Them sharing cotton candy and Raven commenting how she viewed Damian differently than he view himself. That was when Damian realized he had found someone who understood him better than he understood himself. He showed her the one person he could ever come to love and spend the rest of his life with.
Damian opened his eyes to find tears spilling from Raven's face. She was an empath; how could he be so stupid! This was too much for her to handle all at once. "Raven, I'm sorry! I should had known better-"
He was cut off. Raven crushed her lips onto his, as she wrapped both arms around him bringing him closer to her. Though he was shocked at first, Damian leaned into her touch and kissed back. Just like when Raven had first healed him, his mind was being filled with her own memories. Images of them looking out of the Titans Tower to the setting sun, fighting together, and keeping each other safe. Then showing a memory where she leaned on Damian as she listened to him read out loud, while Titus slept on her lap. The last image she showed him was when he smiled at her after they locked her father away, and that she was home thanks to him.
"I love you too."Raven whispered softly and all Damian could do was wrapped his arms tightly around her as they continue to kiss.

A/N: Anyone wondering the little reference when Raven gave Damian a kiss on his cheek? It's from this Damirae prompt I wrote on tumblr. Called "Letting Go." Let me know if you would like it posted here on Wattpad. Thank you!
