"Stop!"
Raven called as their latest criminal, a bank robber had managed to slip and exit the Jump City's bank. Raven had gone after him, while the rest of the titans, Blue Beetle and Super Boy stayed to apprehend the robber's team. As the chase continue, Raven flew over a building, planning to corner their culprit before he causes harm to others or even himself. As an empath, Raven was able to sense, to feel other's emotions and right now the man running from her was feeling rage and fear. Raven couldn't help but let a single tear slip down her face.
The man was angry with himself; he should had done something else to get the money, now he was going to pay his consequences, go to prison and leave his family without have the chance to pay for his son's medical treatment. Raven shook her head, she didn't need to feel this way, he had been part of the bank robbery, they had taken hostages and hurt some of them!
Raven started her decent as her culprit ran towards alley with a dead end. "I said stop! Azarath Metrion Zinthos!" The young empath pointed her hand, feeling her eyes emit a purple glow as she concentrated her magic to her palm. She shot a disk of her dark magic towards the ground, hitting the man's shadow. His own shadow sprang up, wrapping itself around him and stopping him.
Raven floated above him, concentrating her magic as the man cried hysterically saying things, he didn't deserve this or that he needed a second chance he needed to get the money for his family. Raven grimaced, she wanted to help him, but didn't know if freeing him and helping him escape the law would benefit him.
"Show no emotion dearie, people like him don't deserve empathy or any mercy, let him suffer in the darkness."
Raven turned around, scanning the dark alley. There was nothing or anyoneelse there with them. It was only Raven and the man she had caught. She could feel the back hairs from her neck rise, fear.Raven had only ever felt like this when her father's minions were in search for her back when he was fighting to get out of his crystal prison. She would lie to herself if she didn't admit she feared her demon father, he was mad with power and would stop at nothing to destroy everything Raven held dear. But whoever had just spoken, someone who wanted to serve the darkness, that person did not sound like Trigon or any of his minions.
The voice, Raven had heard almost sounded much like Damian's. Which didn't make any sense, he was away from Jump City. Damian had gone for a few weeks to help his father run an event at Wayne Enterprises. Besides, Damian would never say that to any one much less a criminal like the man Raven had in custody. Damian valued everyone's life, either if they were on the path of good or evil. Something he learned from The Batman.
"Hey Raven!" Super Boy called as he flew in causing Raven to focus and look at the robber she had caught. The man continues to cry out, Raven wanting some silence and peace she used his shadow to wrap around his mouth to muffle his cries. Super Boy patted Raven's shoulder, "great job in apprehending the culprit, you'll be going to the big house pal."
"Don't rub it in Super Boy, let's take him back to the others."
"You got it."

Everyone called it a night after the cops arrested everyone involved in the robbery, Blue Beetle took initiative and helped with the reports. Raven had stood at a distance next with Jon, as she could hear the man continue to cry in his mind. Raven fought back her emotions not break into tears. Once the robbers were taken on to prison, Raven conjured up a portal to take them to Titans Tower.
It was past 1am when they all got back, Raven had said goodnight to her team and was heading down the hallway just passing Koriand'r bedroom. She could hear voices coming from the room and assumed her friend and mentor was talking with Dick. Raven just passed the room when, Kori popped her head out through her door.
