You couldn't remember how you got here, sprawled out on the faded, brown rooftop somewhere in the Shiganshina district. Your body felt uncomfortably cold, even though the warmth of the sun burned harshly on your skin, no words could describe the sensation felt throughout your body. Taking a shuddered, deep breath, you groaned as you reached your arm up to your head, instantly feeling a thick, warm substance drip down your fingertips. Blood, a lot of fucking blood. This head wound paired with the gash on the side of your stomach, you had a suspicion that this wasn't going to end well for you.
You could sense that there was plenty of things going on around you, but the high pitched ringing in your ears drowned it all out. You attempted to look around and take in your surroundings, however everything was blurred together.
After what seemed to be a couple of seconds, you could just barely make out the figure of a person running towards you. In almost an instant, the ringing faded away, you could suddenly see clearly, and the pain you should've felt earlier rose throughout your whole body. You began to whimper as your body started slightly shaking.
You noticed that the figure running towards you wasn't just anyone, it was Jean Kirstein. Your relationship with him seemed to be confusing to everyone around you, the two of you included. You both absolutely loved each other, it was clear to anyone and the moments shared between you two was something you would cherish for the rest of your short-lived life. However, the mutual feelings you had, were held back; trapped in unspoken words as a result of the abandonment that often occurred in this harsh reality. You both soon found out, this would be your biggest regret.
You were pulled out of your thoughts as Jean approached you, visibly worried, screaming and pleading for you to be okay. Despite his clear distress, you only smiled as you saw him.
Jean brought his hand to your face and you suddenly became brutally aware of the tears running down his cheeks, so many tears. Your speech became slurred as you attempted to greet him with a smile, "Jean, what's wrong?"
He looked at you with an unbelievable look on his face, as if he was questioning what was going on through your head, "You! You're bleeding everywhere!"
"Oh that? Don't mind that, it's just a little scratch," You tried to ease the situation, all you wanted was to see Jean smile one last time.
Jean sat down and cautiously lifted your body up, he gingerly placed your head in his lap. In the back of his mind, he knew you were inevitably going to die, but he desperately tried to push that thought away, obviously in denial. He knew that someone as angelic as you didn't deserve to pass in such a gruesome way.
He choked back his tears as he lovingly rubbed the side of your cheek, "Alright, you're gonna be okay, it's all going to be okay."
