"W-what do you mean?" I said, instantly trembling.

"You know 'what I mean' Nora. You got some skills. Magical skill" He pressed. I gulped. No futuristic visions could save me from this.

"I- H- how do you know?" I challenged. I had sweated a truckload already and I was willing to switch the tables by now.

"Well," Miles shrugged as he tugged my arm into his room. "I'll show you" He led me to his room-just down the hallway.

Miles's room was a mystery. No, really. A few times, I had asked if I can check something in his room and he simply asked:

"Do you have a hazmat suit?"

"A what suit?"

"A hazmat suit is a piece of personal protective equipment that consists of an impermeable whole-body garment worn as protection against hazardous materials. Such suits are often combined with self-contained breathing apparatus to ensure a supply of breathable air"

He had recited to me. "From Wikipedia" he had added. I had been too bewildered that I had just turned away and had walked away-not questioning why he would possibly need it. Now I knew why. Miles's room was a truckload of science stuff. Test tubes, a centrifuge, beakers, microscope, those cool Newton ball-things. It's science- he got it. I like science- but only astrology. I liked surveying the sky at night as I look up and think about how small we are- how pathetic we are compared to everything else in this world. But Miles's room was different. More than 4 experiments were running at once. Test tubes bubbling, hamster running, 2 year old deconstructable bottle cap... decaying, for some reason.

"Do I need to wear a... hazmat suit?" I said-worriedly. I could probably inhale one test tube and permanently lose my sense of smell.

"Nah" He put it simply. I- for once- believed him.

He had tugged my arm and had stopped-standing-beside a corkboard. He points at my watch-signalling me to show it to him

"Ah. This watch, Nora, is how I know. You take it everywhere-I thought-well you must take it to 'Your friend's house'! So I had-while you slept-put a little GPS on your watch. From there I had to put code into my spy drone to follow that GPS. From there I saw everything"

He grabbed my hand and I stood still- For no reason-as the eldest child-I know-once your sibling has your secret, you automatically become their servant. You do whatever they ask because they use your secret against you.

I had stood still-scared that if I did something wrong-he'd tell mom and dad.

The disappointment.

They would probably disown me

So I keep it to myself. I am officially very bad at it.

But he didn't do anything. He just grabbed his tweezers and picked up something under the wrist of my watch. I saw a little bead in the tweezers and he brought it over to my face so I could see it. It was a little dot-barely seen. I had to strain my eyes to take a look at it. It was full of wires and blinking dots that I was confused about why I hadn't seen it on my wrist before. He had looked at my worried face and said

"You big worried chunk of wax!" He exclaimed with a gleam of amusement in his eyes "I'm not gonna say a word!" I smiled and rubbed his head mischievously.
