I guess it's beginning to be a habit but as I was walking I glanced at Harry's house. Something I'll have to stop soon. His car was there but the lights were off. It wasn't too late maybe around 5 so he couldn't be sleeping. I realized I was staring for too long and quickly averted my eyes. Once I got to the park it was close to sunset. I tried to find a spot other than Harry's tree to watch the sun fall but I couldn't. That tree sits on a small hill that over looks the small lake and rest of the park, plus if you climb the tree you can look down over all the trees and it's just perfect. I gave up searching and walked over to the tree. I took a seat and watched as the sky turn orange and pink. The sun went farther down the horizon line and I looked to the sky to watch the stars slowly appear. It was getting late but I wanted to stay. Its Friday so why not stay a few more hours. It'll keep me away from my dad. I just continued to watch the sky transform into night. Something I've always loved. "Stalk much?" Someone's voice called out nearly making me scream. I looked around only to see no one. "Up here princess" the voice came again. Before I could look up a figure had already jumped down from the tree. As the person got closer I realized it was none other than Harry. Of course it's Harry. "Great" I mumbled. Harry just chuckled and took a seat. It was silent as we both just watched the sky until he looked over to me. "What are you looking at" I some what snapped. "The sky" maybe he didn't think I noticed him and he was testing me. "Well stop it's creepy". There was a pause before he spoke. "So you gonna tell me who hit you" he wasn't even asking his voice was demanding. "I don't know what you're talking about Harry." I paused to think. "Why are you here wouldn't you much rather be with that blonde girl from the other night?" I tried desperately to change the subject. "Jealous?" He smirked. "Please you wish" I scoffed trying not to sound as embarrassed as I am. he just laughed and mumbled the word "cousin" and I wanted to face palm myself. "Now don't change the subject" he pressed on. My phone buzzed saving me from this humiliating moment. "Hello?" I questioned. I didn't recognized the number. "I uh I'm at the park near home" it was my dad and he was furious that I wasn't home now that it's around 11. "I'm sor-...ok I'll be home in 15" more yelling. "I can't get there that fast" more yelling. "Ok" and I was to my feet heading home. "Wait! What the hell just happened?" Harry called catching up to me. "I have to go Harry" I didn't say another word I was already speeding up to get home in time.

"Where the hell where you!" My dad yelled getting in my face. "I I told you I was at the park" I barely got out. "This fucking late are you that stupid" I pressed my body against the door trying my best to distance us. He wreaked of liquor, all he ever smells like now. He grabbed my shirt and slammed me into the wall making my head collide with it. "Stop crying you little bitch" he yelled. When he released me I ran upstairs to my room locking the door. I opened my window and sat on my roof listening to music. I want my mom to come back. How could she just leave me. When my father refused to leave she left instead leaving me behind. Now I'm stuck with him and his random beatings.
