And that's how it started, that's how Rhea Zor-El became the newest and youngest avenger. Not yet "officially" known by the rest of the team, but they would learn soon enough. Rhea sat in the back of an all-black, bulletproof Shield car on the way to the Avengers Compound. Now dressed in black lose jeans and a plain white shirt with a pair of random high tops she grabbed on her way out. Thinking of the avengers, her heartrate was increasing and causing her ears to ring and focus on the loud beat of her chest, her nerves were causing her senses to overload and spaz out like they usually did in these situations. She couldn't even hear Nick Fury talking to her until the loud screech of the breaks drew her out of her trance. 

"You still with me back there?" Fury said while looking back at her with his one good eye. "Sorry I'm just nervous, not every day that I get asked to be an avenger and taken out to meet the most famous superheroes in New York in the same day." Rhea looked down and paused, thinking of what to say, before looking back up again. "When I get stressed my...powers kind of spaz out. If you know what I mean." Rhea had never actually told anyone of her powers apart from her adoptive family, she felt good finally sharing the hidden part of her. 

"Oh, I know, you may find I know more about you then you know about yourself." Rhea's face fell and Fury smirked at the girl's confusion then went back to focusing on the road. "Almost there. Get ready to meet your team, x-ray." Rhea chose not to comment on the nickname, partly because she knew he would reply with some cryptic comment, but also because she liked the name. She smiled to herself before feeling the car halt, her smile faltering but she forced it back up, this was a good thing, this meant she could help people and also make a family...hopefully. 

She stepped out of the car and was shocked at the massive, modern looking building in front of her, glowing from the distant shine of streetlights and bright spotlights projecting on the building. "This is the Avengers Compound." Fury said simply before walking off. It took a minute, but Rhea realized she should be following the man, so she jogged up next to him and trailed behind him. Fury lead Rhea through the long hallways and past the endless rooms and doorways until they finally stopped at two large white doors.

Rhea took deep breaths to secure her powers and signaled to the taller man that she was ready. As soon as the doors opened, she was met with a large living area filled with the avengers. They all stopped talking and turned towards the pair at the door, all sharing the same confused face as they looked at the unfamiliar duo. "Fury?" A tall, muscular man, Captain America, spoke first, breaking the silence. 

"Avengers, this is your newest member, Rhea ZorEl." Fury said simply again, not going into complete detail. Everyone in the room looked at the awkwardly standing girl. "Hi. That's me." Rhea said shortly. When everyone continued to stare at her she continued. 

"I'm from a planet called Krypton, when I was thirteen my planet was destroyed, and my parents sent me to earth to save me. Ive been here ever since and hiding my...abilities. Tonight, was the first time Ive ever really given in and used them...I was the girl who saved that plane." The Avengers just looked at her with open mouths, signaling her to go on. "Ni-Fury showed up to my apartment almost instantly and told me he wanted to make me an avenger, said I could contribute to the team...and let me just say, I am a huge fan. After seeing you all use you abilities to help it made me want to help too, and now I can."

"So, what are your abilities kid? If you don't mind me asking." A shorter man with dark hair and tinted glasses, that Rhea immediately recognized as Tony Stark asked. "I have heightened senses, strength,hearing, and what I call x-ray vision, oh, and I also fly." Rhea said nonchalantly. The rest of the avengers smirked at her answer, liking her already. 

"You picked a good one Fury, She's in." Stark said while stepping closer and patting Rhea's shoulder, smiling down to the newest addition of their team. 
Rhea smiled and held back a squeal, "YES!" she said a little too loudly, causing Captain America to laugh at the girl. "Thank you so much!" Rhea quietly screamed and hugged Tony, taking him slightly off guard but he gave in, loving the innocence of the girl. She pulled away with a wide smile and turned back to Fury as he began talking. 

"Good Stark. Now as skilled as she might be, Rhea is still a child and needs to be trained. Romanoff that's where you come in, I want her made into a fighter but also learning the power she holds, Rodgers you'll help with that. I see a good future of the Avengers with her on your team." With that, Fury turned around and walked out of the room, leaving the avengers and their newest recruit

hey guys. i'm feeling good about this story and rly exited to write it. it's like a supergirl/avenger cross over but i rewrote Rhea to not be exactly like kara. i'm excited to get this going and in the next few chapters we will see wanda and get the plot of age of ultron going. thanks for reading <3
