you look on instagram
and twitter
to see a poet named
"rupi kaur."you decide to take a look.
you see, her style is deemed "Instapoetry."
short, simplistic.
aesthetically pleasing.
with or without a sketch to the side.now your next thought relies on your attitude.
do you:
a) read most of the poems and relate?
or b) act like an ignorant ass?if you picked b,
let me ask you something.do you feel threatened by her?
is it the way she strings words together so elegantly,
yet plainly?straight to the point,
no chaser?she explains love.
she takes heartbreak and misuse and uses them as vessels for her messages.
messages to young girls who have yet to experience these tragic events.rupi kaur reaches far into the depths of her soul
extracts the good and the bad
stores them separately in little glass jarsand when she writes,
she takes her pen
dips it into either jar
(or maybe a different jar altogether)
and begins to draw.drawing with words is a precise art in which
no one can apprentice you.and you, sir,
have no respect for the arts.- r.b auden
