Once inside, Seraphina saw no sign of the children. The main foyer was empty. She could hear voices echoing off the stone walls.

In one moment, the hall was empty. Next, it was filled with people enveloped in warm torchlight. Ladies dressed in full and formal dresses, while the men were in their best attire. Something resembling wine was sloshing in the cups the guests held, though it smelled heavier.

Compared to Seraphina's leggings, and large sweater, she felt extremely underdressed.

People were talking loudly to be heard over the large band playing in the large hall. Moving aside so someone didn't bump into her, she remembered that she was in a memory of another life. Seraphina felt her cheeks get hot before she realized who almost ran through her.

It was little Charlotte, all grown up, scampering down the corridor with her lady's maids. Now looking at the age of sixteen, Princess Charlotte was in a flowing purple ball gown that trailed behind her by inches.

Once the ladies were at the hall's entrance, they steeled themselves before walking through the large double doors. Seraphina followed closely behind them, gazing around at the candlelit chandelier hanging in the ballroom. On the lifted platform sat the King, and Prince Elias.

Elias looked on the dancefloor listlessly until his eyes met Charlotte's from across the moving ballroom. Elias stood and the music came to a stop. Everyone stilled and looked around to why the music had stopped. Finally seeing why the dancers moved to the side so the prince could see her.

From where Seraphina was standing, with Elias staring in lustful awe, she could see how handsome he had grown up to be. A lady-killer, that's what the crown prince had become.

Looking at Charlotte, Seraphina saw that she was as awestruck as Seraphina was. Elias strode toward them, never breaking eye contact with Charlotte until he stopped in front of her. He held out his hand, hope in his eyes and a hint of a smile on the corners of his lips.

Charlotte stood there, frozen as she stared into his eyes. "Grab it," Seraphina said toward the princess.

The princess seemed to grasp her wits again as she laid her hand in Elias'. Elias' lips curled into a smile as a small smile grew on Charlotte's face. Elias gently guided her to the dance floor.

The King, having taken notice of the two, waved for the music to resume. The musician's lifted their instruments and began to play as the two heirs began to dance. As they maneuvered around the hall, Seraphina saw Lady Agnes walking toward the king.

Moving toward the thrones at the other end of the ballroom, Seraphina heard the words they muttered amongst one another. Finally getting close enough to hear them, Seraphina stood watching them.

"It seems as though His Majesty has taken a liking to Her HIghness," Lady Agnes stated.
The King looked on approvingly. "It seems so. Though, something tells me that it will not last for too long."

Lady Agnes turned her focus from the heirs to the King. "Is it not to be?"

They all clapped as the song came to an end. The King leaned over and muttered something to Lady Agnes that Seraphina couldn't hear, but it made Lady Agnes nod approvingly.

Seraphina turned back to the happy royals on the dancefloor. She saw how they panted heavy breaths from the interactive dance they had performed. Seraphina got a look into their eyes. Charlotte's were alight with laughter and joy. But Elias's eyes, they were alight with something else, something that looked a lot like the way Henry looked at her.

Prince Elias leaned in closer to Charlotte's ear and whispered something to her, making her blush and discreetly nod her head. Elias smiled as they bowed to each other and went their separate ways.
