Kageyama Tobio first got his hearing back. He heard the steady beeping of hospital machines. He also began to smell the overpowering smell of sterilizer. He began feeling immense pain throughout his whole body. He felt both of his hands being held by two different people.

His left hand had a gentle hold while the other had a more desperate hold onto it. The pain was getting to be too much and he felt his eyelids twitch a little bit.

The hushed whispering came to an abrupt halt as the two maybe three people in the room realized that he may be starting to wake up.

Tobio tried opening his eyes but they still felt so heavy that no matter how hard he could've tried, he would've failed.

So the raven-haired boy just laid there for a while, trying to be content. But that was basically impossible with all the pain he was feeling.

His brain was trying to put the pieces together what had happened to him to have him be put in the hospital.

The voices seemed to creep back as they realized it was a twitch and that he wasn't fully awake. He tried to focus on what the voices themselves were saying, but he just couldn't. A couple of voices seemed extremely familiar, but he couldn't put a face to the voices and he certainly couldn't put names to those faces.

He felt the hand on his left hand slightly squeeze and then all the pressure was away, and the hand was gone. He heard a door softly shut and the hand that held his right squeezed a little.

As he felt the hand slowly release, he reached out to the hand before it could fully let go and squeezed as hard as he could. Which was enough for that person to stay with him for just a little longer.

His hearing was getting clearer by the second, he slowly began to understand the words that were spoken to him. ".....I can't believe you would risk your life like that."

Why was he mad at that sentence? Why would he risk his life? The voice began again. "Tobio, I love you so much, I know I promised myself to not let myself fall for you while you still so vulnerable and young." "I know I'm only a second-year and all, but your still a middle schooler."

Tobio's eyelids began to feel light again, he felt as if he could actually open his eyes again. He tried, he almost got it. One more try, and if it didn't work he would just give up again.

After a few seconds, his eyes fluttered open. He saw a red-eyed Tooru Oikawa. 'Why's he here?'
Tobio furrowed his eyebrows in confusion as to why his past upperclassmen were here?

He felt like something in his brain was missing some vital information, confused he opened his speech, but Oikawa put his finger over the younger setters lips. He shook his head no, "The doctor said you shouldn't be talking right now."

This caused Kageyama to get even more frustrated, first, he tried to open his eyes earlier but failed, and now he wasn't even allowed to speak? Sounds like some bullshit to him, he was about to try again when his hospital room door opened, revealing his mother, a doctor, and someone who looked like Oikawa's father?

The doctor shot Oikawa a glance, "Has he said anything?" Receiving a head shake from the older brunette, she gave Tobio a warm smile.

"We're happy to see you awake Mr. Kageyama, in the state you were in, we're kinda shocked that you woke up this early." She looked at his mother, "You've raised a fighter Mrs. Kegayama, you got lucky we got him here when we did."

Tobio Kageyama was so beyond confused and frustrated that he squeezed Oikawa's hand to get his attention. Oikawa looked back at him with wide eyes, "Do you remember what happened?"
