~Chapter 9~

~Timeskip to when Kageyama gets discharged~

"Okay, everything seems to be in order Mrs. Kageyama for Tobio to go home!" "We have his therapy sessions set up for every Tuesday and Thursday after school, after that the scheduling is really up to the therapist themselves."

Tobio hasn't really spoken much since his fight with Oikawa. He talks to the therapist when needed and his mom when she talks, but otherwise, he just doesn't talk. 

Oikawa and his dad went back to Aoba Johsai at Tobio's mother's request, she wants her son to heal before really getting into a relationship. She was very happy to get rid of her husband, which she plans to divorce him very soon, and to get her son and herself out of his grasp. 

She laid a pile of folded clothes in front of Tobio and smiled softly. "Whenever your ready, here are some clothes to change into and get out of that hospital gown." Tobio nodded and stared back up at the ceiling as he heard his mother leave the room. 

He felt awful for pushing Oikawa away, he was honestly just trying to help. He sighed, Oikawa also doesn't know what he's doing, he doesn't know Tobio as well as he thought, especially since he graduated from Kitagawa First. A lot has changed since then, mainly for the worst, but still, it definitely has changed.

He slowly got out of bed and began to change into some sweatpants and a hoodie. He cringed as he saw himself in the mirror, all of the scars and bruises still very apparent and visible. 

"Ugly" He scoffed as he put the hoodie on, not bothering to put a shirt on underneath. He put his socks and shoes on and sat back down on the bed waiting for his mother to come back into the room. 

Not too long after, his mother did come into the room with a happy expression on. Tobio was happy to see his mother so happy and gave her a small smile. "Are you ready to go?" He nodded and got up slowly and joined his mother right by her side. 

"We're going to be staying with Grandma for a while until we can get back on our feet and I can find a job of some kind." Tobio gulped, this meant that he would be staying in the house that his grandpa used to live in. That was going to take a while to get used to.

Oikawa didn't really want to leave his soulmate while he was in this state, he really didn't, but Tobio's mother asked them to go home and to let Tobio heal. He reluctantly followed him out of the hospital and they began their journey home.

Oikawa would glance at a marker every once in a while, debating whether or not to text Tobio or to use the marker again.

"Don't Tooru, you heard his mother, you need him to heal first." "Let him work on himself, then talk to him in person so that he knows your being genuine." Oikawa nodded slowly and chucked the marker in the back seat so he couldn't see it all together. 

"That was excessive." Oikawa simply "Tched" at his father. 

"Out of sight, out of mind." Oikawa rolled his eyes and checked his phone. There were quite a few missed calls and text messages from the team. Tooru checked the group chat first.

~Aoba Johsai's volleyball hoes~

Oikawa: Who the hell changed the name of the chat again.

Iwaizumi: I'm not a part of this, I blame the first years on this one smh

Watari: Yahaba did it

Watari is offline

Yahaba: WATARI YOU ASSHOLE

Matsukawa: Dayummm you really got called out huh

Yahaba: Imma dip rq-

Yahaba is offline

Captain: Yahaba get your ass back here!

Yahaba is online

Yahaba: Sorry Captain-

Oikawa giggled a little at the group chat, he was only a second-year, but the first years made him laugh. 

Oikawa decided to talk to Iwaizumi later and took a quick nap. 

He felt the car pull to a stop and opened his eyes and saw his home in front of him. "Did I really sleep the whole ride?"

His father sighed, "Yeah and it was boring as hell without your regular rambling." "But, I'm tired as hell so you're on your own to eat tonight." "I have to work early in the morning so goodnight Tooru."

Oikawa nodded as he followed his father inside. Making himself some ramen and taking a shower and went to bed as well.

Kageyama got himself settled in his temporary room and laid on his bed. He stared at the ceiling and decided to check his phone since he hadn't been on it in so long. 

~Kitagawa Volleyball Loosers~

Captain: Hey guys, sorry for going MIA I was in the hospital for a while.

Vice-Captain(kunimi): Thank god your alright! 

Assistant to the vice-captain(kindaichi): We know, it was all over the news for a couple of days.

Vice-Captain: Well that's one way of putting it-

Kunimi and Kindaichi started fighting in the group chat and Kageyama decided to take a short nap.

~Kageyama's dream~

He was in the field of sunflowers again, he saw his grandpa there again. Hesitant to go over to him, Kageyama stayed in his place. "Hey kid, it's alright now." "My asshole of a son can't touch you anymore."

Kageyama felt the tears running down his face as he ran towards his grandpa again. This time though, he got to hug him and he did so very tightly.

"You should talk to your soulmate again Tobio, he doesn't know how you work yet, but I'm sure he would learn in a heartbeat just to see you smile." 

Kageyama looked into his grandpa's eyes and felt himself start to wake up. The field around him was starting to fade and his grandpa's grip was getting loose. 

~End of dream~

Kageyama woke up with a slight jolt, the dream felt so realistic and he had the sudden urge to text Oikawa but decided against it for now. He would text him tomorrow after therapy since it would be Tuesday tomorrow.

A/N

The next chapter is going to focus on Hinata! So Oikage is taking a pause as we take a look into Hinata's past! It'll make sense when you read it tho!
