At school the next day I was at my locker with Cole when people I barley knew were coming up to me and apologizing if they ever did anything to me or were rude since they now see I had bigger things to deal with and that was the bully that was my brother.
Marie- I'm just saying he should have stuck up for you
L- I agree but what can you do you know
Lola- he's got to be the worst brother on the planet
L- oh no doubt there

L- don't babe me you know it's true

Marie- you're also his friend so of course you're trying to defend him
C- I'm not trying to defend him I'm just trying to prevent more issues between the two so she can go through one day without his attitude
Lola- wait so you can't go one day without having a problem with him

Marie- I thought he would be happy now that you look that way which means you blend in now
L- he even suggested this would be a good thing that I become skinny cause I would be less of an embarrassment that way and it's only made things worse apparently
Lola- that's so messed up
L- oh that's nothing cause yesterday he told me he wants me to go back to looking how I did before so this way everyone likes him again
Marie- I'm so sorry Lauren for everything

The bell rang and they walked away while cole looked at me
C- you know I wasn't trying to defend him right
L- yes I do don't worry
C- I'm on your side through all this please remember that always

We kissed then ran to class before we were late. Throughout the day the conversations continued with random people and always ended the same and that's everyone apologizing and saying what a crappy brother Gabe is. Who by the way I haven't seen at all today until I went home
L- did you stay home today
G- no I went but ditched after second period
L- why
G- cause I couldn't take it anymore

G- the comments everyone had to say

G- like how was I so cruel to sit back and watch it all or how could I call you an embarrassment or how I continue to be rude to you at home after seeing everything you went through and to top it all off that I was the worst brother on the planet
L- well it's not like the comments are wrong

L- yeah you are how are you honestly surprised by this
G- cause I didn't think you hated me
L- hate is a strong word but I would go with highly dislike since you are my brother so I do love you a little cause that's the difference between you and me

L- it's pretty obvious

L- doesn't matter all I know is you're weak if you ditch after a couple periods of just some words I've been beat up and humiliated and still stayed all day
