"Your appetite is really something else, senior." The smaller guy among us with a shoulder length hair commented, watching the latter who's evidently enjoying his fourth serving of tteokbokki in just 2 minutes.
Poking on my third piece, I calmly took a bite. Haru Seong only received a headpat from the tteokbokki mukbanger. "It's a refuel, Haru."
The male with his brunette hair neatly slicked back grinned in amusement. "Sechan, we already ate before this."
"Did we? Haha!"
I kept chewing the seasoned rice cakes with zero interest to its taste nor their conversation. This feels like I joined the wrong social circle, it's suffocating and awkward as fuck.
But this is something I'm required to do. The quest system labelled this as my first quest already. Who am I to bail out in this mysterious new life of mine?
"Right, I've been meaning to ask." Sechan turned to me, swallowing the tteokbokki he just devoured so passionately. "Why did you transfer in North Gangbuk High?"
"No reason." My response is not related to anything. Not only is it nonchalant to hear, but it also sounds suspicious if anyone tends to overthink.
What is so wrong about transferring to another school? Unless North Gangbuk High is special with an infamous reputation. Yet, that's not possible. This guy is obviously the leader from the way the guys acted and greeted him earlier.
Someone as nice as him at its helm can't possibly give such an infamous reputation to the school. But he could also be a two-faced son of a bitch.
Is he trying to check if I'm a potential member to his team, or a rival who will try to dethrone him?
"So you just chose North Gangbuk High at random?" He asked again. Before I can even give him a frustrated look, my facial expression remained stoic as I caught sight of his innocent curiousity.
As someone who lived horrible lives that reached over 99, I'm currently terrorized by a foreign feeling called guilt and conscience.
Did I just say he could be a two-faced son of a bitch? It's a mistake. This guy is the epitome of innocence and kindness, which is the exact opposite of my existence.
"...yeah." In the end, I confirmed his question with a simple nod, earning a response of awe from the guy who's oblivious to my internal war against conscience.
"Are you adjusting well, senior Yun?" This time, the pretty guy named Haru asked a question. He's nice and kind enough to ask that after giving me several side eye glances.
Poking the last piece of my tteokbokki, I stared at it before looking back to him. "Not yet, I am still in the process of adjusting."
Finally finishing my food, the last person to ask a question is the taller brunette who flashed me a smile. "Do you mind if we also hang out with you?"
