Summary- Something happened to Liam, and Theo can feel it.
A/n- feel free to tell me if my summaries are rubbish:)👍💀anyway enjoy!
Theo was jolted out of his nightmares. He sat up abruptly and cursed as he hit his head on the roof of the truck. He almost repeated the practiced line about how he was 'just leaving', to the deputy at the window, before realising that there was no deputy there. Huh. He could have sworn that something had woken him up. Normally he wouldn't just get out of being tortured by his nightmares that easily.
He frowned to himself in confusion, wondering what had startled him awake and left an uneasy feeling settled in his stomach. He huffed and decided to drop it. There was no point in trying to go back to sleep as his thoughts were too restless, not that he actually wanted to go back to sleep and revisit his dead sister.
He got into the driver's seat and turned the key in the ignition and his truck roared to life. He drove out of the empty parking lot he had decided to spend the night in, and pulled onto the road not really knowing where he was going. It was still dark outside and Theo guessed it was just past midnight, judging by the position of the moon in the sky. He drove for a few more minutes before he realised that he wasn't just driving aimlessly.
Frowning, he parked a few houses away from the familiar one down the street. Liam's house. He had driven to the beta's house without even realising it. Turning his truck off, he focused his hearing until he heard two heartbeats from inside the house. slow, steady and rhythmic. Sleeping heartbeats. Wait, two? Liam's house should have three occupants.
He got out of the truck and walked closer to the house, now using his sense of smell to figure out which two people were currently inside. Yes, it sounded a bit creepy, but Theo couldn't shake the feeling that something was wrong. It could of course just be nothing, he knew that David had shifts at the hospital late into the night, so it was probably just Liam and Jenna at home.
As he got closer, however, he realised he had it wrong. David and Jenna were sound asleep in one room, he could pick up their scent easily. The one missing was Liam. He kept calm and tried to think of explanations. Liam could be staying over at Mason's or even Scott's. But he had a feeling that there's something wrong here and he had learned long ago to trust his gut instincts.
He picked up the faint scent of Liam, grass, coffee and Lacrosse. He couldn't explain that last one, it was just a distinct 'Liam' smell. He followed it down the road, truck forgotten as he quickened his pace, as if trying to keep up with something that could disappear any second, which was possible of course.
He tracked it all the way to the preserve and went in, weaving through trees as he let his wolf instincts take over, significantly heightening his senses. He didn't fully let go. Otherwise he would fall into his full-shift and he really didn't want to come across Liam and be stuck in wolf form, due to being stark naked if he shifted back. Not that he was too modest, but he doubted the beta would appreciate having to deal with a naked Theo.
All traces of amusement left him as his nose was suddenly assaulted by a stronger smell. Blood. He practically sprinted the rest of the way, until he came to a clearing. The ground and leaves were shifted and strewn everywhere in way that, to the the trained eye, were definite signs of a struggle. There were claw marks and blood splatters on the bark of the surrounding trees that had witnessed the incident. A strip of torn clothing lay towards the edge of the scene, and Theo went over and picked it up. A low growl left him, as he realised it was Liam's, and so was most of the blood. He caught a glimpse of a bullet embedded in a tree trunk. extending his claws, he dug it out to examine. Wolfsbane. Just as he suspected.
By this point, Theo was slowly starting to see red. His eyes flashed and his breaths came out raggedly, as he fought to control his anger. Liam had been taken. Some fucking idiot had kidnapped Liam after evidently also having shot him, and Theo was going to rip whoever was involved to shreds.
He didn't have time dwell on this sudden protectiveness and blinding anger he felt, as he quickly grabbed the piece of cloth, renewing the scent, and sprinted in the direction it lead him. It took him moment to realise that he wasn't just following the scent. He could feel some sort of sensation in the pit of his stomach. It was slowly spreading through his body and he could feel it almost pulling him in the right direction. He could see Liam's injured form and feel his pain, anger and fear. The bond was unfamiliar and yet strangely fitting at the same time. As if it had been there forever and just came naturally. It overwhelmed him and made him push his feet to go faster and faster. His eyes flashed golden and he reached out with this new pull and tried to focus it even more to pinpoint Liam's exact location.
Suddenly he came to halt. He could feel the tug in his body stronger than before and he knew he was at the right place. A wired fence stretched out a few ways in front of him on the other side of the road. He stayed behind the line of trees at the edge of the preserve to avoid being spotted. He could hear about 2 dozen heartbeats around the outside of the giant abandoned warehouse and even more inside. Liam was in there, he just knew.
He wanted nothing more than to barge in and rip every single hunter to pieces for daring to lay a hand on the one person he truly cared about, out of everyone in this town. He wanted to make them feel worse pain than they caused Liam. He wanted to look into their eyes and hear their screams of agony as he tore them apart with his claws and mauled them beyond recognition.
But, unfortunately, no matter how angry and prepared he was, rushing in by himself would be a suicide mission. he wasn't worried for himself as much as Liam. He couldn't fight off that many hunters with weapons and get them both out in one piece, by himself. Not to mention they'll call for even more back up at the first sight of trouble. He growled in frustration, feeling helpless and furious with himself for not being able to get Liam out of there immediately. But throwing himself into battles, when all the odds were against him, wasn't Theo's style. So, he observed for a while and memorised every single detail he could, down to the number of wolfsbane bullets he estimated was in each of the hunter's guns, before retreating into the shadows and sprinting his way back, this time letting his full shift take over. He felt his bones cracking and re-shaping themselves, as he became his wolf form. His speed increased and he bolted through the woods, intending to get help. If the pack wouldn't didn't do it for him, they'd definitely help for Liam.
He howled, letting out his anger and frustration to the stars in the sky. He'd be back, he promised silently to himself and Liam. He'd be back and he would make those werewolf hunting idiots pay dearly for hurting the little beta, and regret that they ever dared to set foot in Beacon Hills.
Ha! Theo ain't letting anyone get away with that! 😈
Vote and definitely tell me if you would like a part 2! I'm pretty sure I might do one anyway, but if u guys comment on it I promise I'll write it sooner:) Ok Byeee!
