Pony opened the door to his bedroom, a ray of sunlight going through his curtain. It had finally stopped raining and a rainbow was in the sky. Pony stared outside his window for a while before he closed the shades, not in the mood to see the bright light. He put his backpack down on his chair next to his desk and threw himself on the bed, sighing. He laid down on his back and stared at the spinning ceiling fan. He was still in shock of what just happened. "Maybe if I pinch myself hard enough, I'll wake up from this terrible nightmare." Pony muttered in a sarcastic tone. He knew this wasn't any "dream", there was no way he can dream of anything as bizarre as this.
He thought about his mom, and the look on her face when he cried to her. She's very..protective. No, caring. She has always cared for everyone, especially if she truly loves someone or something. I guess that's where he gets it from. After about an hour of staring at the ceiling and processing everything that happened today, he heard a knock from his door.
"Who is it?" He called out
"It's me, Pony. Dinner's ready and your father wants to see you." It was his mother, calling him for dinner.
"I'm not hungry."
"Can I come in, please?"
"Okay."
He heard the door creek, her mother slowly opening the door. He sat up quickly and took out his notebook, pretending he was doing homework. His mother sat down next to him and played with Pony's hair which made him look up and make eye contact, her chocolate brown eyes staring into his.
"How are you feeling? I was so worried about you." hearing her worried tone of voice made him feel even worse. Making his mother upset was the last this he wanted to do
"Yeah. Yeah.. I'm feeling okay." Pony said, giving her a small smile. "I'm sorry for worrying you."
His mother pulled him closer and put her arms around him "I know how important your friends are to you, Pony. I can only imagine how upset you're feeling. I want to make you feel better. I love you." she whispered in his ear.
"I love you too, ma. Thank you." Pony responded.
"You have to eat, though." she said, getting up from his bed and walking towards the door. "Be there in ten minutes, alright? I'll make your favorite for dessert if you eat."
Pony forced a smile for her sake. "I'm not a little kid anymore, mom. I can eat without a problem." He used to give his mother a very hard time eating. His mother just nodded her head, blew him a kiss, and walked away.About 10 minutes later, Pony made his way downstairs. He saw his father eating his food at the table, along with his mom. His dad noticed him and smiled, putting his arms out for a hug. Pony walked towards him and hugged him, feeling safe in his arms.
"There he is!" He chuckled, patting Pony on the back. "I was just talking about you!" Pony smiled at him, but his face didn't exactly match his eyes. His father noticed and frowned.
"Whats wrong, son?" He said with a worried tone. Pony was about to say everything was fine, but his mother put her hand on her husband's shoulder and gave him a look that said later.
As Pony sat down and began eating, he remembered when Foxy would come over and eat dinner with him and his parents like he was apart of their family. In a way, he was. Foxy was like a brother to Pony. He knew that he had issues with his own family, and he would spend time with his as an escape. He knew that his parents cared more about money then their own children. He knew that when they did put their attention on their children, they would put it on his sister, Faith. He knew that his parents considered Foxy as an embarrassment to the family, because he didn't "live up to their expectations". He wondered if the reason why they were moving in the first place is because their parents were too focused on money and success, even though they had more than enough. He hadn't even realized he zoned out until he heard his mother call his name that she probably said more than twice.
"Pony!"
"Huh?" He looked up at his two concerned-looking parents.
"Are you okay? You were just staring into space." His mom said, obviously not going to let him go without an answer
"I.. erm, sorry. I zoned out." He muttered, looking down. "We'll talk later, how about that?" He said, looking back up at his parents again. They exchanged glances but nodded their heads reluctantly. After a pretty awkward dinner, Pony went to his room and locked the door. He started thinking about Kitty and Pandy. How would Foxy tell them? How would they react? Will the three of them still hang out, even after Foxy leaves? Pony had no idea how to answer those questions. He can't bare the thought of their friendship not being the same anymore. They all knew eachother for so long, Pony didn't know what he'd do without them.
His thoughts were quickly interrupted when he heard his parent's voices outside his room. He pressed his ear against the door and tried his best to listen to their conversation.
"I'm worried about him, I have no idea what to do. I feel like he's not telling me everything. I just want to be there for him." It was his mother's voice, talking to his father.
"Give him time, I'll try talking to him later." Said his father.
"I just don't want him to go through the same thing I did." She whispered. There was a long pause, which Pony assumed that they were hugging. What happened to his mother?A few hours later, Pony left his room to go to the kitchen to see his dad on the table, reading a book about Optometry. His dad was an Optometrist, someday, Pony hopes he would be able to have the same career as his father. He noticed him standing there and smiled, offering him to come and sit next to him. He walked over to him and sat down, looking over his shoulder to see what he was reading. It was a nice silence for a couple of minutes, before his father closed the book and looked at him in the eye. Pony glanced at him nervously and broke eye contact. His dad gave him a worried look.
"I heard about your day at school today," he said in a comforting tone. "I won't push you to talk about it, but if you ever need anyone to turn to, you can always turn to me."
Pony felt a wave of guilt wash over him. His parents didn't deserve to have to deal with his problems and constantly worrying.
"Yeah. Yeah, everything's alright." Pony lied, stroking his hair nervously. "You and mom don't have to worry about me all the time, you know."
"I know, but your friend was very important to you. You must be really upset to see him go."
"Mhm..." Thinking about it didn't exactly improve his mood. His father seemed to notice that.
"Hey, how about you tell me what happened later, and we just spend a little time together reading. That sound good to you? It'll take your mind of your problems."
Pony agreed and went to the bookshelf to pick out a book he knows the both of them would enjoy. He sat beside his father as they both read together, and after a while, pony slowly fell asleep in his dad's arms.A bright light shined in Pony's face the next morning. He groaned and rolled over, his vision still blurry and adjusting. His arm reached for the glasses on his nightstand, put them on his face, and glanced at the time.
12:04pm
"I really slept in, huh.." He mumbled to himself as he sat up from his bed and headed downstairs. His parents were at work, so he had the whole house to himself.
Pony made himself brunch and changed out of his pajamas. He sat down to watch TV, but eventually got bored and headed outside to his front porch. He picked up a book and started to read.
Hours passed by, and the sun was just starting to set. Pony finished his book and finally put it down, looking into the sky, alone with his thoughts.
It was peaceful until Pony was startled by a large cry coming from the distance. He sat up and went to go see who was yelling.
He saw a small zebra in a red velvet dress, her eyes filled with tears as Carson and Brandon towered over her while holding something Pony couldn't quite tell what it is, snickering.Hii, its been a while right 😭😭 Ik ive been gone for a really long time (almost 2 years...) and tbh i dont have a very great excuse why I was gone for so long other than I wasnt feeling very motivated n I had other irl stuff i had to deal w/ like school.
