The usually vibrant and friendly atmosphere of Heights Alliance had faded over the last day, and the entire class was feeling depressed to one extent or another.

Yaoyorozu stepped back, leaning back against the wall of the hallway

Sighing, she stared worriedly at the dorm room door in front of her.

Ashido, who was also lingering in the corridor, seemed even more stressed.

She was pacing nervously up and down the hallway biting her nails.

"Why did this have to happen? Today of all days?"

Yaoyorozu shared Ashido's sentiment. Jiro's birthday was the worst day this could have happened.

The dorm room's occupant hadn't been seen or heard from since last night, and her friends were becoming unnerved.

"I assume she still hasn't come out."

Yaoyorozu turned to see Tokoyami approaching.

Their avian classmate was carrying a breakfast tray for Jiro since she hadn't come out of her room since yesterday evening.

"No." Yaoyorozu replied, shaking her head.

"She cried herself to sleep last night. I tried knocking on her door and asking if I could comfort her." Ashido interjected.

"What did she say?"

"I didn't even get an answer. Even a 'Fuck off' would've been better than silence." She replied.

Tokoyami nodded sadly, placing the tray down next to the door.

Inside the dorm room, its purple-haired occupant was curled up in her bed, where she had been since yesterday afternoon.

Her curtains were drawn, leaving the room in almost complete darkness, broken only by a very small slit of light that managed to penetrate the curtains.

The duvet of her bed was slightly lifted by the Pikachu plushie she was holding onto tightly.

Alongside her favourite guitar, it was one of her most prized possessions, since Kaminari had given it to her after their first date.

Normally, said plushie sat on display in the corner of her room beside the wardrobe door holding one of her guitars, but now she needed it more than ever.

Her sunken, bloodshot eyes opened every few minutes or so when Yaoyorozu lightly knocked on the door and asked if she could talk to her.

Usually, Jiro wouldn't ignore one of her closest friends when they were concerned about her.

But she didn't care. She didn't care about anything. Why should she anymore? Her sunshine was gone.

Curling back up in her duvet and blankets, breathing in the bittersweet scent of Kaminari from the Pikachu, her mind replayed yesterday's conversation for what seemed like the hundredth time, forcing her to relive the pain again and again.

Jiro was sitting in her desk chair brainstorming the lyrics for another song when someone knocked on her door.

"Come in."

"Hey Denki, I'm nearly finished Pikachu, the two of us can practice it later if you're free.

"Kyoka, we need to talk." He was looking at the floor, not meeting her gaze.

"What is Denki? You're worrying me now." She laughed nervously.

"Kyoka I'm...I'm moving away."
