The common room of Heights Alliance was in many ways an ideal location for studying.
It was spacious enough for someone to not feel cramped, and quiet unless all of Class 1-A was gathered there.
In spite of these advantages, ardent intellect Denki Kaminari couldn't find the ability to concentrate.
Trying to think about school-related questions in class almost always made his brain hurt, and studying outside of class was no different.
Kaminari sighed audibly, though there was no-one around at the moment to hear him.
Leaning forward with his head in his hand, he lifted his mechanical pencil, pressing to extend another piece of nib, and looked down at his work.
His eyes flickered between the list of questions and what he had written. There was a stark contrast.
When asked to solve 13x - 25 = 9x - 13, Kaminari had answered with a doodle of a Grimer, and when faced with (3 - 2x) + 3(1 - 4x) - 4(1 - 5x) = 2(1 - 3x), his answer was a sketch of Jiro playing her guitar.
In fact, the entire page of the purple notepad in front of him, which was meant to contain an array of mathematical equations, was instead littered with doodles of various Pokémon as well as several detailed sketches of Jiro.
Even though he needed to complete the algebra questions before the next study group session at Yaoyorozu's mansion, Kaminari had long since given up in favour of his drawing hobby.
Anyway, the only reason he had joined that study group was because he could spend more time with Jiro.
"Hey Denki."
Right at that moment, Kaminari looked up to see his punk-rock girlfriend approaching.
In a swift action, Kaminari swiped his notepad closed, concealing the evidence that he hadn't been working.
"Hey Kyoka."
"I'm just heading into town with the girls for a while. Could you charge my phone while I'm gone?" She asked, holding out her phone and charger.
"Sure. Anything for you my love." Kaminari said, taking Jiro's phone.
"Thanks Jamming-way, see you later." Jiro smiled, running out the door to the rest of the girls.
A few minutes later Sero and Kirishima approached him.
"Hey Kaminari, didn't expect to see you studying." Kirishima said.
"Probably because Jiro isn't around. Whenever they study together she jabs him whenever he gets an answer wrong." Sero laughed.
Kaminari physically shuddered at Sero's words.
"Don't remind me bro." Kaminari smiled nervously.
He and Jiro might be in love, but that didn't stop her being strict with him when it came to his grades.
Still, Kaminari understood. If he didn't do well enough in his exams he'd be kept back a year and separated from his love.
"So what are you guys up to?" Kaminari questioned his two fellow Bakusquad members.
"We're heading over to the gym for some extra quirk training." Sero explained.
"Could you charge our phones while we're gone?" Kirishima added.
"Sure, no problem." Kaminari replied, taking their phones and chargers.
"See you guys later."
"See you later Kaminari." They both answered as they left.
