I summon my bags that I had prepared earlier and put them into the car. I smile when I notice my duffle bag in the back seat. Nik must have packed it for me. Just as I close the trunk I feel the pressure on my music lift. I sigh in relief, a single happy tear running down my cheek. Damon was healed. I pull my phone out and text him.

Glad your okay, little cub. Get some sleep.

I hit send and hold my hands to my chest. "You okay, love.?"

I smile as Nik wraps his arms around my waist from behind, resting his chin on my shoulder. "I'm happy. I have you. Jenna, Ric, Jere and Damon are safe and alive. The only thing that would make it better would be having your siblings here." I turn around in his arms and wrap my own around his neck, He opens his mouth to talks but I stop him. "I know you're not going to wake them until you feel it is safe. I promise I will do what I can to help you with that. I want us all to be a family."

I place a kiss on his lips just as the girls screams from inside stops and Stefan comes outside. "Lets go."

"Stefan, mind riding in front. I need to sleep" without answering me he climbs into the passenger seat and closes the door.

"You okay love?" Nik asks sounding the most concerned I had ever heard him. I give him a small smile and take one of his hands in mine. "Yeah, just used a lot of my magic in one go. I'll be fine, I promise I just need some rest" I tell him in an attempt to sooth his worries.

I kiss his cheek before getting into the back seat. I snuggle with the blanket and pillow that was already there and stretch my legs over the seat, my back against the window. I summon another one of my pillows to me and place it behind my head for more height.

We spent the summer traveling all over the states trying to find a werewolf pack. We finally gained a solid lead and were currently in Tennessee, in the middle of nowhere.

Nik drove us down a back road before getting out, motioning us to do the same. Due to the heat I was in black denim shorts and a white vest along with a pair of black leather sandals. Stefan looked uncomfortable with the heat but didn't say anything while Nik was used to it.

Nik grabs my hand and walks me up the drive way. Stefan following at a distance but staying out of sight.  "Rudy! Rudy! Come on. It's too hot to make me come looking for you." A females voice rings out sharply in the night air as she whistles for her dog. Nik and I walk over to her. As part of the plan I left my phone in the car and put on a southern accent, to convince her more I use an illusion to make her believe I was pregnant.

The lady turns around and sees us, gasping loudly and Nik scares her. I lean heavily on him, making myself look worn out from our 'hike'.

"I am so sorry. I didn't mean to scare you." I hide my smile at his idea of an American accent.

"Can I help you?"

"Sorry about him, Sug. Our car broke down a few miles back and yours is the first house We've come across. I as hoping that we could use your phone. I really need to get off my feet" I rub my 'pregnant' stomach with a loving smile to sell the lie. My southern accent slightly thick.  I smirk internally when she gives me a small sympathetic smile.

"Don't you have one?" she asks looking at Nik accusingly. "Mine died." Nik tells her as he holds up his phone, with the power off. She turns to me. When her eyes meet mine I roll my eyes in a good natured way "Forgot it at home, baby brain"

"Look I promise I'm not a serial killer. I just want to use your phone." I hit Nik on the back of his head as I give the girl an apologetic smile.

"Sure" she relents and Nik give a relieved smile. "So, I can come in?"

"No. I'll get the phone and bring it out to you" I look at the ground with a smirk at denial, knowing Nik was getting annoyed by the young blonde. "I thought you country folk were supposed to be more trusting" Nik returns to his normal voice. The girl doesn't seem to notice too much. "I'm from Florida."

"Well, that explains it." Nik speeds to her and grabs her chin, compelling her. "Now, show me a little southern hospitality. Sweet pea."

She finally lets us in and I drop the illusion. Nik holds her to him as she sobs quietly while we walk through the house. Following the noises to the kitchen.

"I bet you $100 that dog ran off to a house with air-conditioning." The second girl finally turns around to see the three of us standing there. Her friend and room mate sobbing as Nik stands next to her, his hand on the back of her neck to stop her from running.

"What's going on?" The black haired female asks as she snaps out of her surprise.  "Please, don't be alarmed. I'm told Ray Sutton lives here" Nik tells her in a somewhat soothing tone.

"He's almost never here. He's on the road mostly." The woman says her eyes not leaving the blonde.

"But I expect he makes it home once a month. That's what I thought. Now where is he?" The ravenette looked to her friend when as Nik speaks, letting him know that he was right. I knew things were going to start getting messy so I quickly kiss Nik's cheek before going back outside.

I walk back over to the car. I grab my phone from the front seat before jumping onto the bonnet. I was about to check for any new texts when I hear a whine from the bushes. Curious I jump down and quietly walk over to the sound. Peering through the leaves I notice a blue Staff puppy that couldn't have been more then a few months old.

I coo as I gently lift the puppy into my arms. After a quick look I start thinking of names for the female pup.

A/N

First to comment gets to name the puppy.
