Introduction

Under an internet alias, you can call me 'The Lost Playwright,'. Yes, it is a very laudable name and gives off the vibes of someone in his or her tween years. However, it does give me some respect of privacy. If I happen to write a bunch of nonsensical materials, then I can easily disappear as I have ventured into Wattpad.

Currently, as of 2016, I am 18 years old. So, maybe I am not a tween after all! I have been a pagan since I was thirteen, and like all pagans, I am still exploring and learning about the path. It makes sense that I have ventured into Wattpad, as it seems to be a place for many young people. As these many young people join Wattpad and write books, there is a number of folks who decide to crank out a book on Wicca, Witchcraft, or Paganism. I decided to join the ranks, give me a high-five!

After reading some of these books, I came to realize that many simply have inaccurate information. For example, it is quite popular that people will write about 'White Magic' and 'Black Magic' in Witchcraft, or how Wicca has survived the Witchcraft Trials and comes from traditions as old as the neolithic practices in Çatalhöyük. This is just plain inaccuracy in part of doing research on Wicca and Paganism without opening an authentic and well-reviewed book on the subject. Even if one person reads this book and learns something new from it, I will feel like I did something to give people information about Paganism and Wicca. In our time and age, Wicca should not be seen as a form of devil worship, or simply spells.

We have the internet, and it is time to set down the old rumors and whispers of misinformation. If you know about Wicca and Paganism and are upset at the misinformation on Wattpad, then write a book on it too! I am here to write a-bit-more accurate information because I know that Wattpad is free, but so is the ability for anyone to write inaccurate material on Wicca. Thousands can read a book posted by any person and think that is the entirety of Paganism and Wicca. I want to open doors to new thoughts not discussed usually.

Also, by writing this book, I am putting down my thoughts and organizing my mind. This is important because I will be able to see the gaps in my knowledge, and with people giving feedback--hopefully--I will grow as a person and so will my spirituality. If you, as the reader, notice that I have been writing the wrong information, then please, comment and we shall all grow from this process. I am just a teenager, and obviously doesn't know everything about Paganism, Witchcraft or Wicca. This is okay, and I will want to learn. This is an outlet to learn, not for just the reader, but also for the writer.

Saving for last, I will state that my writing experience for lengthy novels is limited. My background is a couple of chapters in fan fiction, but to write a non-fiction book, and actually complete it? That is an entirely new milestone. So, excuse my poor writing skills and awkward transitions. If you are a true Grammar Nazi, then please message me about a particular chapter, but not make a big deal out of it. I am a new writer, not some master such as the likes of Mark Twain or Jack London. Also, this book is far from scholarly--it's not the gospel. My disclaimer!

Thank you for reading this introduction, as many do not. Enjoy the experience of this book, and Blessed Be!
