I felt my body start to wake up. I tried to move but the extreme pain came back, although it was worse than before. Everything was a little colder, the warm blanket I had on before seemed to be gone. I felt that something was stuck in me and that the bed had become much more uncomfortable. When I decided to open my eyes, I was greeted by a bright white light, not at all like where I fell asleep. The dazzling light made me disoriented and the fact that I could only feel pain gave me a little panic. I saw nothing but a white blur. I could not move and all I heard was that same beep that I heard that day in the back street.
Dark silhouettes began to move around the room and they seemed to be talking to each other. ö I could hear small bits, mostly small screams and gasps. One of the figures moved closer to me and stopped a short distance from where I was lying. The beep that shot in my ears began to calm down and the blur began to sharpen.
There were actual people standing, about five of them walking around and doing different things around the room. Everyone wore some form of coat or blue shirt. Some wore plastic gloves and the one who came in last held some flowers. But before I had time to register where I was, the tiredness came over and my eyes were closed once more. A few minutes later everything was black.
