the two waked back to the girls, as they were sitting in a circle.

"hey, you guys partying without us?" toni joked as all of the girls heads turned towards the two.

ashlynn got up and ran towards sydney.

"oh i missed you." she squealed as she hugged the brunette.

"you just saw me, ash." sydney giggled.

"so what?" ashlynn said as sydney hugged her back.

"you're back. find any water?" martha asked the two brunettes.

"no." toni replied.

"where's shelby?" martha asked again as toni stuttered a bit.

"hey, sydney." dot got the girls attention. "you okay? your arm is bleeding again."

ashlynn looked at sydney's arm.

"again? how the hell did this happen?"

sydney made eye contact with toni.

"uh. i tripped over a rock." sydney said as shelby came back.

"yeah, she's right there."

"your head." martha put her hand on shelby's shoulder as toni tensed up a little.

"oh it's fine, ran smack into a tree, if you can believe." shelby reassured the girl.

"yeah."

toni looked shocked as she made eye contact with the blonde.

"very silly of me." shelby said with a smile.

"hey!" the girls heard as they turned to whoever yelled out.

"hey, the phones working!"

they stared at rachel, as she held the phone up.

"it's working! oh, my god." rachel then went on the phone.

the girls made their way over to rachel as they stood in a circle.

"listen, we have to be strategic. we only have one bar and almost zero battery life left. every second counts." rachel said to the group as most of the girls were ready to call a loved one.

"may i just say, i am ready to make the call, okay? my aunt is a 911 operator, and i..." shelby started to say.

"no, 911 is out. it doesn't work in every country, and we don't even know where we are, so if we're closer to, like, japan, 911 is useless." rachel interrupted.

"japans emergency number is 119." nora stated.

"look, we only have to get in contact with one person, so i want you all to have someone in mind, make sure you know their number, and make sure they love you enough that their waiting by the phone right now. okay?" rachel ordered.

"seeing as how i didn't really have my phone, i didn't really know my parents numbers by heart. not that they would have cared anyways."

"well, did you happen to know any numbers by heart?"

"yeah. three to be exact. one being my own number, another being ashlynn, and seeing as how she was with me, couldn't really call her."

"and the third one?"

"dylan."
