Y/N POV

Me and Ruby were in vale. Tai wanted me to go with Ruby so that she wouldn't be alone, though it really wasn't necessary. She's been doing exceptionally well at Signal, and I think the mere sight of Crescent Rose would make just about anyone shit themselves. We were in a weapon shop. She was reading a magazine and I was looking at attachments for Fell Cyclone, which was currently attached to my back in sword form. I heard the door open and quickly looked over. I saw Torchwick and a bunch of thugs. I rolled my eyes and put the part I was looking at back. I walked towards ruby as one of the thugs appeared to notice her.

Thug: put your hands in the air.

He pointed the gun at ruby, but she did not notice.

Thug: I said put your hands in the air! do you have a death wish or something kid?

I tapped ruby on the shoulder and took her headphones off.

Ruby: are you robbing us?

Thug: YES

Ruby: oooohhh...

She stood up and kicked that son of a bitch right out the window. I laughed at the expressions on the faces of the other bastards who seemed to think it was a good idea to rob an obviously armed man in a weapons shop. Torchwick and his probably hired help turned and looked as crescent rose unfolded.

Torchwick: Oooookaay. Get her.

All the thugs ran at ruby. I once again rolled my eyes and started towards the front of the store. She doesn't need my help. I didn't need or want to be here, but Tai is so worried about his precious rose that he thinks the basically-a-huntress needs a fucking bodyguard. But I did need some exercise. Ruby took out most of them in a few seconds, and one good swing from my weapon dealt with the ones she missed. Torchwick watched his men fall with a face of great displeasure.

Torchwick: You were worth every cent truly you were. Well red and... whoever you are, I think we can say it's been an eventful evening. And as much as I'd love to stick around, I'm afraid this is where we part ways.

He pointed his cane at us, and I was not surprised when the bottom flipped up to reveal a crosshair. I was a little surprised however, when instead of a bullet, we almost got hit with some kind of flare. We both dodged as the thing exploded in between us. I quickly scanned for Torchwick, and saw him climbing up a ladder on a building across the street. How he got over there and how he was at the top, I don't know. But I ran to the building and used my semblance to create a block that I used as an elevator. Ruby used the recoil of her gun to launch herself up. He was facing the edge of the building.

Y/n: you thinking of jumping?

Torchwick: persistent

A bullhead rose up from out of view and Torchwick jumped in. He turned around and threw a fire dust crystal at us.

Torchwick: End of the line red and company!

He raised his cane and I summoned a wall in front of me and Ruby. After the explosion, and the smoke cleared, I saw my wall hadn't been touched. I looked to our right and saw that a huntress and shielded us from the explosion. She launched some projectiles which shook the aircraft and sent Torchwick tumbling. He ran to the front as the bullhead steadied and attempted a departure.

The huntress threw something in the sky above the aircraft. A symbol and some clouds formed and started raining icicles down. One of them went through the windshield, but the bullhead kept flying so I figured Torchwick wasn't dead.

A woman stepped into view and threw fire at us which was blocked by the huntress, who had to dodge as a pillar of fire erupted from beneath her. She used the debris to form a spike, which was deflected off the hull. The spike split into several different pieces, which maneuvered themselves to collide with the airship. The lady who threw fire at us somehow sent out a shockwave that melted them all. I don't know what kind of semblance or what dust she could be using, but it certainly wasn't something I'd ever seen before. And I've seen some shit.

Ruby tried to shoot at whoever was trying to kill us, but she blocked the bullets with her hands. Safe to say I have some questions now. Something appeared on the ground under us, and I've played enough video games to know that you need to move when you're stood on top of a red circle during a boss fight. The huntress threw Ruby forward and cartwheeled out of the way. I didn't see the need for the flashy moves and just stepped forward. More pillars of fire exploded from the ground as the doors closed and the bullhead flew away.

y/n: well, that was... something.

Ruby: you're a huntress, can I have your autograph?!

Next thing I knew we were in an interrogation room. With the huntress scolding us. I wasn't really paying attention, I wanted to go to bed. I snapped back to reality when I heard another set of footsteps. looking up from the table, I saw Ozpin. Ozpin? What the hell is he doing here?

Ozpin: Ruby Rose. You... have silver eyes.

He leaned into Ruby's face and stared right into said silver eyes. Qrow had told me about the significance of silver eyes, and while it was something I'd certainly noticed about ruby, I wasn't being creepy about it. Ruby struggled to find something to say to him, while I threw him a glare. Which he noticed and immediately stood back a couple steps. Smart man.

Ozpin: Ahem, where did you learn to do this?

The huntress who had introduced herself as Glynda Goodwitch earlier, showed a tablet with security cam footage of ruby fight with the robbers. Highest quality security camera I'd ever seen.

Ruby: S-signal acadamy.

Ozpin: They taught you to use one of the most dangerous weapons ever designed?

Ruby: Well, one teacher in particular.

Good ol' Qrow. One of the most paranoid people I've ever met when it comes to those close to him, but a great guy. Also basically my stepdad. He'd taught both me and Ruby how to use scythes. He taught me how to use a sword too. Didn't have too many tips on sniping but he helped where he could.

Ozpin: I see.

Then he set down a plate of cookies in front of her. She hesitantly ate one, but upon reaching the conclusion that they were probably not poisoned, she at them all. Because it's Ruby. It just makes sense.

Ozpin: It's just that I've only ever seen 2 other scythe wielders of that skill before. Your brother, and a dusty old crow

Ruby said something unintelligible before actually swallowing the cookies and wiping her mouth on her sleeve.

Ruby: Sorry. That's my uncle Qrow. He's a teacher at signal. I was complete garbage before he took me under his wing, but now I'm all like- hoowaah! waachaa!

I stiffled laughter at the accidental pun, and at the karate noises she was making.

Ozpin: So I've noticed. And what is an adorable girl such as yourself doing at a school designed to train warriors?

Ruby: Well... I want to be a huntress.

Ozpin: You want to slay monsters?

I tuned the rest of the conversation out. I'd heard her plan many times. I had to encourage her to go for it sometimes. I noticed her speach start to speed up, and then it was less tuning her out, and more I had no idea what she was saying.

Ozpin: Do you know who I am?

Ruby: You're professor Ozpin. Headmaster of Beacon academy.

Ozpin: Hello.

Ruby: Nice to meet you.

Ozpin: You want to come to my school?

Ruby: More than anything

Ozpin and Glynda exchanged a look, before he looked back at Ruby, and Glynda looked away annoyedly.

Ozpin: Well okay.
