I flop on my bed on my back and put my head phones in, when I hear a knock at the door. I groan in my mind. I hate it when people interrupt my music time, it's so inconsiderate.
"Come in." I say rolling over and sitting up at the edge of my bed taking out my head phones.
"Hey, we're ordering pizza you want anything?" Mike says.
"Sure, the usual." I say.
"Um." he looks at me obviously not knowing what i meant.
"Oh, right, you don't live here any more so you wouldn't know what that means." I say.
"Soph." he says softly.
"Pepperoni." I say.
He sighs, "Okay." He says turning around and closing the door behind him.
I lay on my back on my bed and a few minutes later another knock at my door interrupts. the one time i choose to listen to music in the morning and people take a sudden interest in me. great.
"Come in." I say.
"Hey." Kyle says opening the door.
I sit up quick.
"Hey." I say.
"You good?" He asks.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I say.
"I, um don't want to seem like an eaves dropper but i heard what Mike said outside, and I don't think he should've said that. I know it's probably none of my business but, um I hope your not feeling too bad about it." he says scratching his neck nervously.
"Uh, yeah no it's fine. Just a stupid conversation." I say.
"Okay." he nods his head slowly.
"I'm gonna-" he says pointing behind him indicating he's gonna go.
"Yup." I say.
He turns around and closes the door behind him.
okay, what on God's green earth just happened? why was he nervous? and why did he apologize to me when Mike was the one who had that dumb conversation with me?
I immediately grab my phone and text Maddie about it.
She calls me, squealing through the phone, making my ears ring.
"Jesus woman. Relax would you?" I say
"girl a cute guy was nervous around you! How are you so chill?" She says.
she pauses for a minute, then continues.
"Oh. My. God. You NEED to wear a cute outfit for him when you eat tonight." she says.
"The hell I am." I say.
"I'll be there in five." she says.
I stutter before she hangs up does but nothing comes out. Until I realized that she said that she had to baby sit her young nephew while her mom "does the night shift" I didnt think Magnolia's was opened late. Magnolia's is Maddie's family business her parents opened up together. I close my phone and wait for hell to show up at my door.
Literally 5 minutes later, the door bell rings. I run to the door like my life depended on it. I open the door, and give her a don't-say-anything- look.
She follows me upstairs, quietly, and places a big black bag. Please don't be make up, please don't be makeup.
"Of course it's makeup." I say.
She takes my shoulders and places me on my chair, and starts placing products on my face.
"Is this necessary?" I ask.
