Chapter 3 Birthday and Dreams

Y/N POV

I'm standing in a sunny field surrounded by wisteria trees in the center is a singular blue flower. I've never seen this type of flower before it looks like a lily but it's an unnatural blue color. As I reach out to touch the flower red liquid starts to drip down the beautiful petals. The once sunny field is now dark as if a storm is arriving.

I feel pressure on my chest and hear my name being called from far away. My body jerks and I wake up in my room at the Oyakata estate.

I feel two little hands still shaking me I looked to see Kuina and Kanata, the younger daughters of Oyakata sama, at my bedside.

"Onee-san you are finally awake," Kuina said

It's been a year since I've joined this family and they all refer to me as family. All except for the eldest son Kiriya who just calls me Y/n-san. Hinaki thinks he has a crush on me since he won't refer to me as a sister.

"Stop being lost in thought mother has made us breakfast for your birthday," Kanata said

My birthday is what they consider the day I was rescued since no information could be found out about me.

"Get dress and we'll meet you at the family dining room," Kuina said as she dragged her sister out of the room

I got up making sure to put up my futon so the servants wouldn't have to do it. The servants quite often got upset at me for doing tasks that I shouldn't be doing since I was the adoptive daughter of Oyakata sama. I went and pulled out one of the nicer Kimonos that Amane had gotten for me. The servants used to help me put on the Kimonos but after I got the hang of it I convinced them I no longer needed help.

I made my way out of my room to go to the family dining room which was separated from the commons dining area. I use to get lost all the time because of how big the grounds are but after being here for a year I now knew it like the back of my hand.

As I entered the dining room I was sure to greet the other three siblings I hadn't seen yet. Kiriya's face went red and Hinaki and Nichika laughed at his reaction. I took my seat in between Kuina and Kanata who I was the closest to in the family. We waited for Amane and Oyakata sama [who would kill me if I didn't call them mother and father] not wanting to eat without them.

Mother(Amane) entered guiding father(Oyakata) to his spot at the table. It always impresses me that he didn't let his illness get to him.

"I'm so happy that we are able to gather this beautiful morning to celebrate y/n's birthday" father said in his calming voice

"Thank you I'm happy you are well enough to join us. I hope your health continues to increase" I said

Father was kind but was strict when it came to our education. He made sure that I was taught the same information as if I was his true daughter.
