Chapter 8 Into the Mountain

Y/N POV

The energy coming off Mount Natagumo was dark making the surrounding area feel ominous. The mountain was large and filled with large trees that would block out any sunlight. This was any demon's perfect hunting ground and we were at the entrance of it.

"Wait will you please stop," Zenitsu said

We all turn to see him seating on the ground with his knees pulled into his chest.

"I'm scared," he said in a whining voice

"Disgusting" Inosuke said

"I'm not disgusting I'm normal and you're abnormal" Zenitsu shouted pointing at Inosuke

Tanjiro just looked at the whining male with a dumbfounded expression.

"Zenitsu I know you are scared but we have people who are depending on us to kill the demon who lives on this mountain," I explained to him

Zenitsu seemed to brighten up after I spoke to him.

"Your so kind but I still can't move" Zenitsu whined

I was going to scold him but I heard rustling coming behind us. I turn back to the mountain to see a young male crawling towards. His eyes widened when he saw us and he reached his hand out to us.

"Help," the unknown male said

"He's wearing the corps uniform," Tanjiro said

Tanjiro and I started to run to him.

"Are you alright?" I asked

Before Tanjiro and I could reach him he was pulled back into the dark mountain. It was like a puppeteer pulling the strings of his puppet. He cries for help as the tress of the mountain consumed him blocking him from our sight. Tanjiro and my face both held the same expression of guilt for not getting to him sooner.

"I'm going on there," Tanjiro said

"Me First! You can tremble and follow behind" Inosuke said

Inosuke leads the way into the mountain as we left the crying Zenitsu behind. The further we got into the mountain the more ominous it became. As we got further in we saw a figure crouching down hiding behind some tree. I was relieved to see that it was the same male who had seen earlier. We made our way to him and Tanjiro gave him a fright placing his hand onto the male's shoulder. The male gave us a frightful expression turning to us.

"We've come to help I am Tanjiro Kamado this is y/n Ubuyashiki and Inosuke Hashibira we are all level Muzunoto," Tanjiro said

The male looked even more frightened after Tanjiro spoke.

"Muzunoto...Muzunoto, not Hashira?! It doesn't matter how many Muzunoto they send it won't make a difference" the male panicky said

"Shut up," Inosuke said punching the male in the face
