Marlena's POV
I came to New York, when I was 10 with my parents from Mexico. Sadly they died from diseases and didn't make the trip. I have dark brown hair, with dark brown eyes and I was short about 5'1. I had also light brown skin.
I was alone in New York, just me and the big city. I learned how to steal food, which then lead me to be caught by the police and put in an orphanage. With the caretaker Mr.Jasmen, she was the worst!
But one night, I met Jack Kelly. He took me in and treated me like his little sister. I became a Manhattan girl newsie. Jack taught me how to sell papes and kick butt. Youse don't want to mess with me. I'm pretty much a regular 16 year old girl Newsie, living in New York.
