Harry sat at the front of the Great Hall, looking out over the students sitting at their tables as they whispered about him. He was the only one not surprised at the fact that slytherin was now his new house. The sorting hat had, after all, attempted to put him there in his first year.

McGonagall stood by, seemingly shocked as well at this turn of events. Finally, she regained her composure and tapped Harry gently on the back.

"Best be going to your new house, Potter." She said gently.

Harry nodded. Standing up and making his way over to the slytherin table, every eye in the hall, teacher and student, was on him. He picked out Hermione's head and made his way over to her. He clearly didn't want to be sitting alone at the Slytherin table.

"You ok, Harry?" She asked under her breath the moment he had sat down.

"Yeah. I kind of thought I'd end up here." He muttered back.

McGonagall moved to her podium.

"I know that many of you are not happy about the resorting," she began, "But I hope that in the future you realize that this for your benefit. Many people displayed different personalities during the war, and we have decided that in order to prevent another wizarding war, students must forge new friendships with students that they may not have gotten along with previously." The last part of her speech was given with pointed looks at the Slytherin table in particular

"Please do try and get along. Now, after breakfast, you will have half an hour to retrieve your belongings and move them to your new house if you have switched houses. Those remaining in the same house will be courteous to those who have been moved, and help them adjust."

With that, she sat down and breakfast appeared before everyone. A half hearted chatter, mostly about how they couldn't believe that Harry was in Slytherin, broke in the Great Hall. Harry and Hermione, however, remained silent throughout the meal.

Once they had finished eating, Harry and Hermione headed back to Gryffindor tower.

"It feels odd, knowing that this will never be our house again." Said Hermione.

Harry nodded in agreement. "Let's go grab our stuff quickly, that way we can have some time with everyone before we have to leave."

Hermione nodded sadly. They both went up the staircase that led to their previous dormitories. Entering what used to be his room, Harry sighed. He would miss this place, what had been his sanctuary for years. Not someone's spare room, and certainly not a cupboard under the stairs. This was just a room for him and his friends. But now it was not his anymore.

Before he knew it, he had gathered up the few possessions that he had unpacked the night before. The shard of the mirror Sirius had given him, the model of the dragon from the triwizard tournament, the snitch Dumbledore had left him, and the picture of his parents. As he walked out of the dorm with his bags, he noticed Ginny and Hermione waiting for him, also lugging their bags.

"Well, let's go downstairs now that we're all here." Hermione said.

The trio descended down the spiral staircase, perhaps, as Harry kept telling himself, for the last time. On the bottom step, Hermione suddenly froze.

"Hermione, what's wro-oh." Said Ginny.

Sitting on a loveseat sat possibly the worst thing Hermione could see after being resorted. Ron, sitting in an armchair by the fire, had Lavender Brown sitting in his lap, and had his arms wrapped around her waist while they kissed.

"RONALD BILIUS WEASLEY!" Screamed Hermione, while Harry and Ginny just gaped in shock at Ron.

"HOW COULD YOU DO THIS? I HAVEN'T EVEN LEFT GRYFFINDOR YET AND YOU SUDDENLY START WITH THAT, THAT, THAT SLUT!" She screeched.

"SLUT? LOOK WHO'S TALKING! THE TRAITOR!" Ron hollered back

"TRAITOR? WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN TRAITOR?"

"YOU'RE IN SLYTHERIN! YOU'RE A TRAITOR, AND WE ALL HATE YOU!"

"RONALD WEASLEY I HATE YOUR GUTS!" Hermione screamed as she ran out of the common room.

Ron turned to Harry and Ginny next.

"Ginny, get away from that Slytherin scum!"

"Scum? Is that how you think of me?" Spat Harry.

"Yeah. And keep away from my sister!" Ron spat in return.

"Come on Harry, we don't need to listen to him. Let's go find Hermione." Said Ginny. "Trust me," she added over her shoulder as they began to walk out, "Me and my Mum will make him regret that."

Harry nodded, knowing that if anyone could give Ron an earful about what he'd done and come out alive, it would be Ginny and Mrs. Weasley.

Hey! I'm so sorry about the long wait, but I've had so much stuff going on lately that my mind just kind of shuts down from overload, so by the time I finally get a chance to write I just end up staring at a blank screen. Anyway, I'll definitely have a lot more time to write after March 7th, so I'll probably update more often after that! Proofreading creds to ShortyLovesBand, and the awesome picture that was drawn just for this story was done by my awesome friend Agretfethr! Please Comment, Vote, and share!
