I was in school when I got a text off Hermione asking me to come to the Pembrooke after school. After school I knocked on the Pembrooke door. Hermione let me in.
"What did I do to deserve a call from Hermione Lodge?" I asked.
"Elijah hasn't stopped begging me about boxing and I'm hoping you would teach him or at least show him some things." Hermione said.
"The only time I boxed was during prison. My fighting is literally more like brawling. But I do have a friend Sweet Pea and he's getting me more into boxing. I could ask him if he'd teach him somethings." I said.
"I know. I'm asking because I think Eli's having a harder time with Hiram being away than he's letting on. Eli's always bonded more with Hiram and I don't know what he's into." Hermione said. "He really enjoys spending time with you and Alana."
"I'm more than happy to have him around. But I'm not clean cut like Hiram and my friends aren't exactly your daughter's friends." I said.
"You and I both know Hiram isn't clean cut. Your a little rough around the edges but you're good for both my kids whether you believe it or not." Hermione said.
"New York bad is a different bad to Southside bad. And you know what they say about snakes. They shed their skin but they're always gonna be a snake." I said looking at the time. "Look I gotta go. I've got a shift at work." I said. Hermione nodded as the door opened.
"Miss me that much that you can't bear to not see me for a day?" Veronica asked.
"Preppies are known for being smart. Didn't realise some were funny too." I said. "Later." I said walking out.
"Anastastia." Veronica called. I turned around and cocked my eyebrow at her.
"Si?" I asked.
"Jason Blossom's funeral are you going?" Veronica asked. I looked at her and laughed. "What's so funny?"
"He was a Northside kid. Southside and Northside don't mix. And I can't anyways. I've got plans." I said.
"Let me guess you're working." Veronica said.
"Nah, I'm heading to the Snakepit," I said.
"Sounds like a nightclub. Where's my invite?" Veronica said.
"It's not a nightclub and hate to break it to ya preppy you wouldn't last 10 minutes." I said.
"Hey, no need to be mean." Veronica said.
"Not mean if it's true. Shorty." I said walking out.
